  11. In honour of this thread, I've changed my avatar Cheers Steve
  12. This was a joke by the way (see post #2)
  13. I'd hazard a guess at that being the original press before the Orange one? I've got an 'Orange' one (above) plus I have it on another label with the same release number (I think?). One Way is the other label from memory? Darn good record too Hope this helps? Cheers Steve
  14. Bloody marvelous femme crossover Kegsy Not sure enough folks' know this (yet!) and as you know it's bloody hard to find on London (issue or demo) and nearly impossible on 'Yellow' US Prodigal. You've got a little beauty on UK demo imho and i'd rate it upwards of a ton It's not even listed in Mr Manship's UK book either! It's the release after Jack Ashford (Do the Choo Choo) and the number is missing in the book! Good luck Sir Cheers Steve
  15. Or ask me for it and see what happens  Cheers Steve
  16. Yes, I bought it for 'Man' but on tracking the LP, found 'Rose' (which I didn't know anything about at the time?) and liked it much much more and started playing it at The Orwell! Got a thumbs up from the regulars and before we knew it it was on our next annivesary CD! btw 'Rose' never came out on 45 Would be a big record if enough copies of the LP were around imho Cheers Steve ps Pat, hope you're well mate? Three years on and the little blighter is still eluding you eh?
  17. F**king right I am

  22. OK Wayne had me micrometer out and have compared the two The sleeve is the same but the ri looks newer (if you know what i mean). It's made the same way and is identical in every other way except the orig just feels older! The vinyl looks the same and the printing on the label is virtually the same but again the ri looks newer! The run out is the same on both (K-2000-A & K-2000-B) BUT there is a difference (see below) I have found differences and here they are- Orig - There is a 'dink' on the label that is 70mm in diameter ri is only 35mm diameter Orig - Run out is 3mm high ri is only 1.5mm high Orig - The song titles on side B are 2mm ri - The song titles on side B are 2.25 mm Orig - The song title on side A 3mm ri - The song title on side B is 3.25 mm (You'd need the two together to spot these!) I would say the only thing that you could could tell without having the orig is the run out size I also note someone said there was a couple of bootlegs of it, so not sure which one mine is? Anyway, there you go, hope it's worth it for you Cheers Steve ps My ri is for sale at £20 if anyone wants it pps Going to iron me anorak, see you later
  23. Dead right Paul Look through the hype and glitz and actually see the quality Soul folks he has lined up! It's worth putting up with naff jokes, the dwarf, the jungle and that woman he knows who has a name very similar to a womans front bum to see some real Soul talent He does have to be commended for putting the whole thing together that's for sure! Cheers Steve ps Mr Dewhirst if you're reading this, re our conversation at Goodwood, can you see about persuading the powers that be to get Mr Lamont Dozier to do a one-off concert where he plays all his classic solo stuff (& Holland Dozier with him on lead). We'll get a poll going and the top 20 will be his playlist for the evening........................sorry just dozed off there for a minute and was dreaming, it'd be rather nice though
  24. I think i'm right in saying that this is the Test Pressing that Flanny pulled out of my £1 box at Yarmouth in the mid 90's? Not sure if this was the first ever copy on the scene but I know Flanny used to play it out a bit just to wind me up Still to this day don't understand how i picked this up in the US played it for about 2 seconds and decided it was no good and immediately put it in the £1 box...........ah well you live and learn I think I may also be right in thinking Flanny sold it to one of the Ripolles boys for one of their testicles (not sure which one though? I mean brother not testicle cos that was a left one ) Cheers Steve
  25. I have a definite original and recently picked up a reissue 'F*ck me, it's virtually impossible to tell them apart'.........except one feels right and the other doesn't I can dig them both out again and give you a better description but from memory that's what i said to meself when i had them back to back!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Steve
