Never Had It So Good
which yet again brings me back to the vinyl thing you Djs & collecters bang on about let's keep it vinyl but then 99% of Dj's out there haven't got the records so all Joe public gets is what you Djs have got Who would play the records, if not the DJ....confused. What I mean is a vast majority of djs could not have ,own or carry the Records to play to there public i.e a vast majority of the oldies that aren't played to day is becourse the Dj's of today haven't got them to play on vynil so or limited to what they can play ,and so are in search of new stuff to play I don't care what a tune is played on ,eg vynil .C.d .mp3 .As long as its played .As I've said before I feel alot of people being attracted to the scene need to hear the old stuff as well as the stuff being put out today

Never Had It So Good
with all respect Russ I've been to some old'es nights where a dj plays that middle of road 60's stuff that for me all sounds the same & like wise modern nights the same for me 90% of it is not for me but may be it float's your boat! I still think theres alot of older stuff out there that dosn't get enough airtime which yet again brings me back to the vinyl thing you Djs & collecters bang on about let's keep it vinyl but then 99% of Dj's out there haven't got the records so all Joe public gets is what you Djs have got AhhhhThat feels better . Best Richo.

Do Any Other Members Think There Are To Many Events On These Days
In reply to what you have said ,I'm not tring to be negative I have and still do travel to different areas for soul events Nott's Linc's Derby's York's over the past 40 years & have had some excellent nights out only to see people how run events fall out/desagree and hence start a separate event running same day! . In response to new people entering the scene which is great! How many are coming for the Music ,and how many are coming for a night out?, How many promoter's /Djs care enough what they play & whats been played? We have seen over the last few years the pub & club trade dwindle, which in turn someone say's let's put a soul night on Hence I give you the amount of event's !. Not class nights with Dj's with the records That these's day's we hear rarely because they haven't got it and in some Circomestances don't know, and people on here say let's take the N/soul scene forward I say let reeducate it first. See now you've distracted me from the point I was making about to many events LOL.

Do Any Other Members Think There Are To Many Events On These Days
While I agree with some points you make I still feel there are to many events in the same areas. And many soul fans still travel fair distance to venues and I wondered if dwindling numbers at events was due to the amount of events on per wekend

Do Any Other Members Think There Are To Many Events On These Days
I agree with what you say so many tunes you never hear some say same old same old .And some say we need new stuff to move the scene forward I think if Some of the music from the past that dosen't get played that often 'was air'd more. But that distracts from the point I was making that in the same area on most weekends there are more than 1 event It mystifies me.
