Is This Taking Bootleging To The Xtreme
Those paying all that money for his output must have some serious kit to play it on. Probably pay more for a tone arm than most people pay for their complete hi-fi system.

Unpleasant Record Dealings
Did he have the price marked up? Probably wanted to increase it if it's starting to get plays.

That's a full tanner.

Is This Taking Bootleging To The Xtreme
Interesting article. I can remember the big move away from valve technology to solid state components. The only people who kept making valves were the Soviets, as they weren't affected by electromagnetic pulses. Still used in a lot of high end hi-fi amps because of the warmer sound.

Price Of A 45 1970?
That's some rounding up. Six and eight is equal to 33p, give or take. 45p is nine bob in old money.

Why Are Venues Always So Bright?
There's also the problem of early doors in the summer, when the venue doesn't have any decent black out curtains / blinds.

Melvin Davies On Solar Radio
I'd been listening to Richard Searling's show and just kept it on for the Soul Discovery show. Melvin sounds like a nice guy.

Northern Soul Concert Poster - The Holy Grail?
Another poster advertised on Poster Central was for the Four Tops concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. Produced by the same press as the Miracles one, so a very similar "Boxing" style. Big difference here is that it's autographed. Also, notice the misspelling of Johnny Talbot & De Thangs, who were local to the Bay area, recording on Oakland label Jasman. https://youtu.be/OE5NkN3yRSM
