  1. Really looking forward to this one. Been far too long!
  2. Bargain price on these two. PM me if interested. Jimmy Ruffin - Make me Winner. North Broad St. Played twice. £15 Edwin Starr - If my heart could tell the story. Gordy. At least VG+. Plays perfectly, but has one mark, drill hole and a pressing bump. £15 SOLD
  3. Love the sentiment that collectors never stop collecting. I spend far too much time duel screening record lists and You Tube and am always on the look out for that 'never heard before' tune. Audio posted in the Soul Media folder is another brilliant way to come across unknown bargain priced records. In recent times heads up in particular to Steve Scotney and Chris Anderton for contributing to my ever increasing collection and ever declining bank balance!
  4. Just the two today. PM me if interested Jimmy Ruffin - Make me Winner. North Broad St. Played twice. £20 Edwin Starr - If my heart could tell the story. Gordy. At least VG+. Plays perfectly, but has one mark, drill hole and a pressing bump. £20
  5. Got a lot of time for Billy Ocean. Interesting interview on Lenny Henry’s Caribbean Britain prog earlier this week. However, I’d run a mile if I heard RLSD at a soul night!
  6. Totally agree Rick. One of the best duets ever from Michael and Rena Scott
  7. Obvious one, but still a goodie RIP Michael
  8. Anyone help? Don’t mind label so either Paula or Vault. Excellent or better please. PM if you can help Cheers Keamus …..yes seen the one JM has up for auction!
  9. Certainly noticed the lower crowds, but no animosity or ill feeling. Already alluded to many times, but there are far too many nights, afternoon sessions etc competing for the same dwindling audience.
  10. Remember when the job lot turned up. Think about 2005 there was a constant stream of them appearing on eBay. Was it the label owner who was selling them?
  11. Few left from last week’s list. Prices reduced so let me know if interested - Little Johnny Taylor - Zig Zag Lightning. Galaxy. Excellent. £25 SOLD Ortheia Barnes - Take my heart and soul. Coral. Excellent £35 Lamont Dozier - Breaking out all over. ABC. Excellent. £4 Janet Lawson - Dindi. United Artists. VG+ £10 Milton Wright - Like a rolling stone / I belong to you. Satiron reissue. First time at Layton last night. Brilliant venue with a great dance floor that stayed busy all night with top sets from Jim, Tim and guest spinner Derek Smith. 5 stars all the way!
  15. Great magazine and a lovely mix of tunes. Keep them coming!
  16. Add Danny Woods and Kenny Hamber to the list
  17. Gene Toones is a fabulous record, but so is the other Simco rarity by Sandy Wynns ‘I’ll give that to you’.
  18. Does seem to be a common Discogs trend. One seller sets the bar at a ridiculous off the scale price and the sheep follow with lower tariffs that are still double what the real price should be. Result is lots of unsold records.
  19. Reissued on a 12’ from Disco International with Spanish Maiden on the other side. No idea on date, but think I first saw sometime in the mid 80s.
  20. Agree it’s nuts. Couple of quid in the early 90s and lots of them about.
  21. Great set. Loved that and few new ones for me. Delegation track is brilliant.
  22. After his Arctic classic ‘Anything you want’ on original label in at least VG+ condition. Missed one for sale the other day for £350. PM me if you can help. Thanks Keamus
