  5. Sounds like he was eating them, rather than selling them Chris
  6. I'm ashamed to say that my last visit to the 100 club was nine long years ago, when the South Wales "Soul Patrol" were on regular active duty, and times at the hallowed venue were enjoyed regularly and with sincere fervour.....Alas personal events curtailed my enthusiasm for most things for a long while, and the 100 club in particular would have been a painful excursion for many reasons, and whilst time has been the great proverbial healer....I've become a lazy so and so, and London generally doesn't appeal to me with regard to travel and cost, as nobody in my adopted town of Cheltenham (that I know of) attends the 100 club, hence solo travel is my poor excuse for non attendance nowadays! Whilst I won't patronise you Ady with hollow statements of an imminent return, whatever the future holds for the club, it will remain an icon in my opinion, and I take my hat off to you for your undying effort and enthusiasm. Sincerely, mike wilks
  7. If you are talking of the 10 inch Detroit Sound Patterns acetate, which I am led to believe was Guys, I bought it from Des Parker a couple of years ago and recently traded it with Steve Jeffries...best wilxy
  8. Cheers Harry
  9. I got sniped Phil, however, I've had a positive PM

  12. Anyone have a spare copy they'd be willing to part with please?.....PM me if you do Thanx!
  13. Quite right Dave, and whilst no longer a "strict" UK collector personally, from a "motown" perspective the red & white demos are very desirable.....perhaps even the "label fillers"so to speak
  14. cheers fellas
  15. whoops sorry guys....I have the album.....I meant on 45
  16. A typical oversight on my part, thinking that I had one of these tucked away on Groovesville, noticed somewhere that it never came out on the particular label.....Could anyone enlighten me to as to what (vinyl format)other than UK Contempo was it legitimately released on (if indeed at all)? cheers wilxy
  17. Whilst collecting Motown (worldwide), I had one or two from behind the "Iron curtain" inclusive of a similar ditty from Yugoslavia, however and whilst I no longer own it had a "my cherie amor" on a USSR "picture disc" which basically was a square coloured 7" card type item with a picture of a swan on a lake with background reeds! Nothing on the "disc" itself wordwise and the sleeve was even more basic....
  18. Whilst I was aware of Detroits economic "demise", I only "scratched the surface" with regard to seeing too much of the City whilst there a couple of years back, but I can honestly say I was gobsmacked after watching last nights programme.....very very sad viewing
  19. My copy arrived this morning, and as Dave stated at the outset, great layout.....and well worth waiting for
  20. I know this book has been a long time " in the making" so to speak, and it sounds like it's been very worth the wait......mine ordered today, so letterbox standby duty in due course
  21. That's playin' safe Ezz.....I'll give you £29 tops
  22. I am probably one of the worlds worse for "pigeon holeing" sub genres of our superb musical "vault", particularly from a personal collecting perspective, which I might add incorporates most tastes of the wide range of "styles and eras", however I prefer to attend venues nowadays, that whilst don't deliberately purport to be"cross the board " actually play underplayed/semi known quality soul particularly from the 60's/70's!.......Whilst I enjoy most aspects of all aforementioned sub-genres, I must say that hearing, entire sets of certain sub-genres, leaves me cold....R&B included........even moreso Latin!......Hardhats to the fore!
