  1. Rip Paul sorry to hear of your passing. I first met Paul in 1981 at the last oldies all-nighter at the Casino, which I had gone to with my friend Dave Shaw also sadly passed away, they were firm friends Dave introduced me to him It was the first time I had been to the Casino for about two years and decided to visit for one last time. Although Paul was what I would call an aquantance at best he always took the trouble to say hello and shake hands. Unfortunately the last time I saw him was at Rugby all-nighter about two years ago. Condolences to his family
  2. All of the above is true the All-nighter scene is very much a struggle as we all get older. I my self am 64 and still have my Heath apart from a dodgy knee and a minor heart condition which is managed and I still work full time, which is my biggest struggle. This Saturday myself and a couple of friends are off to Rugby All-nighter which means I have had to book Monday and Tuesday off work, thankfully I have plenty of float days. All of which is worth it to go to such a quality event but even so I only attend about three times a year. My local monthly soul night is enough to satisfy my soul fix. Having said all of this thank goodness their are still Allnighters to go to.

Rest assured you will be in for a treat, I have had the good fortune to whiteness Tim DJ at two soul nights in the last year or so and they have both been the best spot of the night on both occasions. They were oldies but the sort you seldom hear I would love to know what he has stashed away in his collection. Unfortunately we are on holiday and won’t be able to make it to the 100 club on Saturday but we will be at the August all-nighter all being well.
  4. Fingers crossed I might be able to make this event. First time here since the Lifeline days.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. I didn't think that you could improve on the 2010 event which was brilliant. Sundays event was of the same qualty, just goes to show Stafford got it right back in the eighties so glad we were able to attend.
  5. Looking forward to attending this great allnighter again, last years event was very memorable for many reasons, hope we can be there again.
  6. RIP fisher you certainly made your mark love hearing this record out at a venue, slightly off topic how many known copies are in existence. ?
  7. As ever quality all the way a copy of this will be in our household very soon. The first two pied piper`s are excellent this is no different. This CD will be put to good use on my thirty mile round trip to work in the coming week`s while stuck in traffic.
  8. No one can play a saxophone like this man now or then. I was lucky enough to see Junior at the casino in May 1977 something I will never forget. Every time I hear one of his records I always have a smile on my face so glad I saw him.
  9. Total quality has he ever been anything else, loved this song ever since my first visits to the casino around late 1975 early 1976 very special period in my life and something I will treasure as long as I am alive.

RIP Ben a real legend if ever there was one.
  11. I have just uploaded this to my kindle, will read later today. One city in America I have always wanted to visit is Detroit, love the music that came out of there in 1960's.
  12. RIP Billy butler one of the first records I heard forty years ago when I first started out on the scene was the right track. What a great legacy you left behind thank you.
  13. Loved the film I could really relate to it from my early days of going to allnighters and everything that went with it. I learned a lot about life by going down that road more so than if had not done it, opened my eyes to a lot of things that is why I still enjoy doing it. Elaine is the only person that has showed how it was for many of us because she has done it herself, hence in my opinion her film beats all of the so called documentaries about the scene hands down. I wish her ever success in every thing see does.
  14. Glad it went well long over due. I will be in the area next month work related stuff will make an effort to see for myself.
