Just When You Thought It Couldn't Get Any Tackier
The funniest piece is the Isley Brothers 'My love is your love' green and white demo mug, when it was a photoshopped bootleg label for a non-existent 45

Four Tracks...i Got One Of The 100? Off M Spivens
Remember the David Rhodes fiasco played out so publicly a few years back, where it was claimed it was an o.g. 70s press (when it was a 70s recording on a recent press). The b-side gave that one away, it had a 90s sounding drum machine on it, and the labels were in a modern computerized typeface if I remember lol, so it's not always about the vinyl cheers Sutty

Blaze On West End
Sadly not in this case, remember picking it up when it came out, think it ended up in a charity shop in the end. Blaze have made some fantastic records. This isn't one of them though... listen before you buy no matter how big a Blaze fan you are cheers Sutty

German Boots/Re-issues on Ebay
99% of the posts on this forum relate to the northern soul scene, it's known as a northern soul forum (and a very good one), so i'd say yes you are predominantly on a 'northern soul' forum, that's why most people come here? Yes it covers other bases but that's it's root audience (not that there's anything wrong with that of course). You write as if i'm criticizing you in some way, i'm merely stating that if you step out side the collectors bubble represented here, you'll find thousands of people who are not clued up on original vs reissue 45's, are not part of any 'scene' ("The original copy has been known and played on the soul scene throughout Europe for a long time"), don't frequent forums and when they want a record, they look directly via ebay or google. So the buyers probably happy just to have the tune on vinyl, and the seller wasn't misleading anyone and is also probably happy. The fact the buyer doesn't shop around is more his issue: https://lmgtfy.com/?q=ambassadors+%22ain%27t+got+the+love%22+arctic

German Boots/Re-issues on Ebay
In answer to your original case of the 'sad bidder', this particular track was sampled on the Pete Rock and CL Smooth classic 'I got a love' many years ago, as i'm sure some/many will know, so the likelihood is that this was won by someone who's more into finding the original track on vinyl that PR sampled but not necessarily bothered about finding an original pressing of the track. Not everyone out there is as clued up as people on this forum as regards Arctic Records 45's and I guess quite a lot are really not that bothered about originals/boots/reissues, as long as they can put the needle on the record and listen? I can't imagine this ever got played on the northern scene anyway did it, doesn't sound like a northern 'sound' to me at all? Just a thought... cheers Sutty

Percy And The Image Band
This is known in steppers circles for 'catch a falling star' which is the side I bought it for years ago, about £20 is right. Can't tell which side of the 45 is scanned there, but 'star of the show' is awful IMO. cheers Sutty

Gil Scott Heron - The Bottle Spoken Intro
Go here for the best never-released GSH & BJ live concert ever IMO including an amazing 15 mins+ version of the bottle https://neverenoughrhodes.blogspot.com/2008/09/gil-scott-heron-live-at-bottom-line.html this is so much better than 'it's your world', enjoy! it's been freely available for years on the web. the 15 minute version of 'home is where the hatred is' is pretty amazing too. cheers Sutty

Larry Wedgeworth & Clique "no More Games"
But it already was a big record wasn't it? it's been known and played out a lot for 20 years+, one of the 70's tunes that got plays at northern nights such as 'Janice' and 'Please don't send me away'... stay awake at the back Ian

Vise Advice
I just realised that from the scan earlier on, at the time they were being 'got' it was a total secret squirrel though, I assume the source ran out of copies so there was no need to get the needle out and scratch it off the label
-
Vise Advice
no probs. he didn't get that many and as far as i'm aware he never sold one without the address scratched out, so unless someone else has found more copies or discovered his source that he wouldn't reveal (not even the vague location never mind the actual address), it must be still pretty rare and around in low-ish numbers, it always went for £100 but I guess it's gone up now by the looks of it (much like everything else...)

Vise Advice
Ian got them from either a band member or their manager or maybe one of the bands uncles, I forget now what he said it was years ago - i'm pretty sure he's not related to anyone though lol, he just got them through contacts, etc. Ian scratched out the addresses on the labels to stop people finding his source, I bought one from him when he got them and he'd just sold one to Keb who stuck it on a comp. cheers Sutty

James Mason 'sweet Power' Pressing Question
Some people really need to do a little homework before shelling out that kind of money for a latter day bootleg of a non-existent original 1977 12". I notice the wording on the ads is somewhat ambiguous describing it as a 1977 recording but also saying original 12", which is pretty lame and slightly deceitful marketing from the sellers points of view... but if someone is willing to pay the money for a counterfeit, who can blame them for taking it? cheers Sutty

James Hamilton Thread On Dj History Forum
A guy I was acquanted with that used to own record shop in Brighton bought those Gospel 45's from the James Hamilton auction, I remember seeing the box with them in, nobody was interested in them so he got them dirt cheap. Unfortunately he was so paranoid about not getting top dollar for every record he ever sold that he never even let anyone look through them, he kept them in the back of his shop. After he sold the business he presumably let them go as a job lot to make a bit on top, as by then he'd probably realised he isn't actually a very good businessman at all and gave up trying to run a record shop... and he is a complete tw*t, and I have told him that and more to his face, although my disagreement wasn't over these particular records and his mindless paranioa, it was some other records and his mindless paranoia and conning me into pricing up a collection for him then trying to rip me off afterwards, but you live and learn! lol that mighty clouds of joy 'pray for me' pictured is a hell of a good record! EDIT - I see the guy posting the records got them off the man in question, at least they've gone to a good home! DOUBLE EDIT - it's MIKE who has the records, they have gone to a good home. cheers Sutty

Mod / Skinhead /suedehead Retro Clothing Wanted
Drop Simon a PM Pete, he's a partner in Immediate Clothing on Sydney St in Brighton and specializes in original vintage/retro 60's clothing. Jump The Gun on gardner st is the mod shop, Simon's not involved in that and they sell newly made look-a-like clothing not vintage. Got a fantastic full length original 70's heavy leather full-length trenchcoat in amazing condition here if you want to look like someone standing outside the casino in 1975 cheers Paul

12"
Much as we'd all like to buy it, you've got a long wait for it on vinyl, it doesn't exist, so alternatively, go for a legal download and play it off your phone if the CD is out of the picture cheers Sutty
