  1. Well as you've got it up for £150 on Discogs I'm a little confused as to the question ...
  2. I agree , I just didn't want to post that figure and suffer the wrath of the crowd ...
  3. £700-ish judging by Popsike for a 'real one' , but there's an Outta Sight repress out there for about £20-30.
  4. Margo's just posted one in Sales ...
  5. https://aedphillips.com/2020/09/14/in-memoriam-desmond-dekker/
  6. Only copy I could see on fleabay is listed at £75 by some chancer. The best way to have it affordably is on the superb Various Artists "Sold on Soul" LP on UA from 1980 which is packed full of great tracks for about £20. https://www.discogs.com/release/2883094-Various-Sold-On-Soul
  7. Perhaps this thread should be merged with the "The Scene Is In Safe Hands" thread ... Quite how any self-respecting 'soul fan' could be taken in by such a blatantly open and obvious AI twaddle merchant is beyond me ...
  8. Just had this pop up on my Facebook feed so I've borrowed it for this thread as there's very little live footage about. Jr Walker at the Ram Jam Club in Brixton , 1967. Jnr Walker Shotgun Ram Jam 67.mp4
  9. For some reason I've found that using the Search feature whilst 'in' this thread just throws up this item , but doing the Search from the Activity feed offers up 411 items with the phrase "Al Williams" in the title , another minor quirky thing for @Mike to investigate ? Here's a link to the 400+ that I got from the search from the feed ... https://www.soul-source.co.uk/search/?&q=%22Al%20Williams%22&quick=1&start_after=any&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=or&search_in=titles
  10. The RK release was 1978 the year that Robert Kingston started the Casino Classics label so I assume it was made before they had the idea of the CC bandwagon thing with RW on the team management-wise.
  11. The levels of torture that americans inflicted on themselves aurally back then in order to try and avoid setting their eyes upon coloured singers never fails to amaze me. Just how desperately bigoted did the record company executives have to be to sanction a steaming pile like that ? But fair play to them for being inclusive enough to let the "special" little cousin to join in on the vocals.
  12. The new drama "Untamed" with Eric Bana and Sam Neill is very good so far. (two episodes in) Set in Yellowstone Park amongst the sumptuous views it offers it's a visual treat as well as a drama.
  13. Quick heads up to anyone in the market for a vinyl press , a bunch up for a no-reserve auction on the 25th in Acton , NW10. No vinyl cutting lathes unfortunately which was something I was hoping to see ... I assume this is from the old "Broadcrest Ltd" plant that subsequently became "Phoenix of Vinyl Ltd" ... ? https://gjwisdom.co.uk/2025/07/on-line-auction-contents-of-vinyl-production-business-friday-25th-july-2025/?fbclid=IwY2xjawLleEBleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETBXNHVKb05hdVRGWnhUMDVoAR4zgrgtizECnOGUtGv_cDRw2Ytpv1cfUq-1K2ewH0GiRe2nYz7qnLLTYmpTEA_aem_mZSkFZ7nOfHIG0N4SEX0tw https://auction.gjwisdom.co.uk/auctions/catalog/id/313?order=lot_num
  14. Got bored waiting for a call so knocked up this quick animation of the last seven days worth of my solar discs.
  15. Acetates are literally 'cut' individually on a lathe basically , no multiple copies from stampers , exactly the opposite in fact as the stampers are made from the acetates.
  16. And have them spread all over the internet willy-nilly , nah. I've waited forty-odd years to do something with them so a little longer won't hurt.
  17. Hi Andy , I'm still deciding what to do with them , along with all the others of bands from those years that I was shooting while most on here were doing Wigan , like SLF , Motorhead , The Undertones , 9 Below Zero , Siouxie and the Banshees , Toyah , Echo and the Bunnymen , The Cure , Gang of Four etc etc. I'm still trawling through the negatives making hi-res (3600dpi) scans of everything , it'll be a while whatever I do as there's loads of rolls to go through. Some were recently used in a film by Brandon Spivey called "Crass: The Sound of Free Speech (The Story of Reality Asylum)" which is doing well across Europe at the moment.
  18. Happy hunting. I don't have any acetates but pretty much every single and album I have is fully autographed after the thirty-odd times I saw them live between '78 in Cambridge and '82 in Paris , as well as umpteen of the photos I shot over the years ...
  19. I know there are some on here like me that started their musical journeys in the late seventies and also like me have a interest in a broad range of genres. There are some real treasures on offer here from a man that had a heavy influence on the ears of many folk so I thought it worth sharing the link for any of the less aurally blinkered members that might be interested. https://bid.omegaauctions.co.uk/auction/details/a259-the-john-peel-collection/?au=205&fbclid=IwY2xjawLcMkpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHhFoOYsW9sPNx1bHEL9Nj1K5bxpcNUCot9zlRr0Rq75Hgh2BXErbHkeiaNZZ_aem_wQqTiNMHd9l1lrvO16kL4A&pp=96&so=0&pn=1
  20. That doesn't finish until the 23rd ...
  21. Lovely to see the font change , it's miles better , thank you Mike.
  22. At about 1:50 in the video she's on stage with the doo-wop group shown in your photo , comprising one black chap and three white fellas so I'm not sure where your statement fits.
