  1. 19:45 ... Tyrone the Wonder Boy - Please Consider Me - Four Brothers.
  2. Methinks it's more a case of not wanting to be associated with the circus act that 'northern soul' has yet again become rather than the term itself ...
  3. Me too , that's why I was so persistent with Dean ...
  4. Thought I'd add my copy to the mix ... It's an 8" Audiodisc acetate that I bought from Dean Anderson around 1995 at the 100 Club after many months of persistent pestering ... Label lists it as Session #1 (#1) , with what could be an inscription from the singer too ... ? It's a vocal heavy mix and the sleeve is marked up as Vocal Session ... and is a tad more uptempo than the Resist issue to my ears/feet ... ? Click on the pics for the full size images. Not sure of the history behind the various acetates , I just remember three copies around at the time played out by Mark Bicknell , Dean and Big Scotty . ( who was playing at the 100 club the night I bought it ) Any more info would be most welcome ...

  6. The instr. was a Pat Brady spin first at Stafford before Roger methinks ... ? One of those "monster rarities" that still leaves me stone cold after thirty years , and having vocals now does nothing to change those feelings so no advance orders from here ...
  7. There's been one in my box for nigh on 30 years ...
  8. Or maybe borrow that Q-tip when Dooby's finished with it ... "Lonely girl , SAD OF EYES"
  9. Someone needs a firmly wiggled Q-tip methinks ...
  10. " I - I - I'm gonna find , me - e so - ome bo - o - dy ..... " Fabulously phrased last line , oozing emotion , that bloody jocks always tend to fade out or talk over ruining one of the finest 2:23 ever recorded ...
  11. Guess that 19 years at Stoke trumps 34+ years at the 100 Club eh ...

  16. I have a lovely (vinyl-wise) copy of the Limitations , I'm Lonely ..... on Bacone , but whoever "uncovered" it way back when all but destroyed the labels .... Definitely in the "Fine for DJing" category ... Good point is that a Mr Weston let me have it dirt cheap on account of the paperwork . ( Thanks to Jumpin' Joan for introducing me to it at the 100 Club ... )
  17. As far as I was aware , according to site rules , you're supposed to leave the post open with the prices of sold items showing for reference sake ... Seems not to be the case with this repeat offender ... ?
  18. He's been a busy little sod ... https://www.ebay.com/sch/soulwaxni/m.html?item=121638369354&hash=item1c5236384a%C2%A0&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  19. Very little ... https://acerecords.co.uk/the-complete-studio-recordings-1968-72
  20. Convenient that 100 year 'secret' ruling eh ... ! Mind you with all your 'connections' amongst the powers that be I'm sure you've had a peek at even those most deeply classified documents ... 5th Btn Black Watch landed on Juno evening of 6th and would hardly have been 'practicing' at Margate in the morning before pulling out of the Solent after lunch , and the 1st/7th Btns left these shores on the 9th from Tilbury not Margate .
  21. That's brilliant Martyn , thought I'd never know that one ...
  22. Margate as an embarkation point on D-day ... where were they invading ... Southend ... ?
  23. This must be one of the longest running unknowns methinks , and a one off too , have been sorely tempted to get one cut over the years but as I'm no dj it would be pretty pointless not to mention disrespectful to Saus ... Not a cover-up as such just a blank acetate , JMM just a name to give it.
