  1. As Mike has said we need to be careful, I found a person on facebook who seems to know quite a lot about the person everyone needs to be careful about naming for legal reasons and his name is.... name and link removed by site
  2. Is this his website https://www.elvinyl.co.uk/artists/7082-darryl-menkin-vinyl
  3. Somewhere in my brain second hand goods are different and discussions about UK-EU are ongoing and July 2021 ring a bell, but I am no expert
  4. And you will be saddened to know (unless you already did) of the passing in early December of Deborah Christine Newton Cathey, half of The Chantells........RIP https://www.cumbyfuneral.com/tributes/Deborah-Cathey
  5. The plot thickens like my wife's gravy at New Year 45cat have the yellow one as a bootleg/repro And this comment This could possibly be the same group who are on Jamie as that is a Philly label. https://www.45cat.com/record/brx17
  6. Is this him ? https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=it&u=https://jazzinphoto.wordpress.com/tag/gilles-petard/&prev=search&pto=aue
  7. High point for me was managing to get to one of our local car boot sales in-between the lockdowns and buying 3 LP's for a £1 in nice knick
  8. There is a comment on Discogs saying 2000 for the yellow one, but that may be wrong
  9. Thanks that's kind of you. Older age, aches and pains......yuck I am now very intrigued with this and the other labels in the group so may start a new thread
  10. Got a bad back and kept waking the misses up every time I moved You are so so correct to ask about the B side group being changed. It looks like your copy was first and in error and then corrected on the white one Looks dodgy, only as there are so many dodgy records "out there" Would be nice to know where they were pressed I know Tim Brown had the A side on a Goldmine single in 1996 Nowadays with these tracks being so/more popular in the UK I never know where they come from and it does my brain in
  11. You can probably see why we are all "intrigued" Can you add a B side scan please to help with thread and matrix runout details please
  12. It's no wonder we all get confused and you are the only person to say (so far on the net anyway) that the Companions was a made up name. Do you have any idea why someone would issue a group on a B side as a made up name when the A side was correct ?
  13. I found this interesting off one that sold in 2013 from roots vinyl guide ? Test Pressing 2002 ? Description The Companions-I Can Feel It / Inspirations-Gotta Find A New Love-Benn X Test Press-Philly Soul 45 unreleased 60s-With xerox white d.j. label . Near Mint condition. Only a few of these test pressings were made with the correct group name on the "I Can Feel It" side. The Companions also recorded a single for General American, "Help A Lonley Guy." Both sides of this Philly Soul 45 were unreleased when they were recorded in the 1960s, and the regular green label Benn X 45 is long sold out! The strange world of vinyl eh ? Did the lister suggest green when yellow ? I think this Drifters sounding tune is one of the Inspirations cuts Larry Pinder, Ebert Holmes and Herman Johnson (Companions) ? https://stage.timtimebomb.com/tag/philly-soul/
  14. On the El Corols release (first on Tiny) I reckon all the dates are wrong on that one too
  15. I know it's been ages but I wasn't a member in 2012 Found this and it might help (sorry if it's been covered since Dave) I assume it was after March 1970 ?
  16. It never came out on Blackhawk. Lou waited until Carrie later that year
  17. Wonder if this ever got recorded ?
  18. This is his site https://www.franceinter.fr/personne-gilles-petard
  19. The plot thickens here saying 1966 for 116 and 1973 for C-116 unless I have had too many sherries https://www.45cat.com/record/nc300707us https://www.45cat.com/record/nc135439us
  20. Sorry someone made a comment on the notes section of the video (which doesn't show on the link) stating it is Amnon Feldman
  21. https://www.udemy.com/user/amnon-feldman/ The notes on this video state Amnon
  22. Karl, I know it's been a while but 45 cat seem to have this Combinations as the same group as recorded on Master, Carrie and Solid Rock, does that indicate that dave's article is incorrect please or 45 cat https://www.45cat.com/artist/the-combinations-michigan
  23. Wow !!!!! what an interesting way of doing things, it's nearly as odd as some record prices nowadays that are genuine
