  1. Yes, exactly the same today.
  2. Hard to imagine being without it.
  3. I'll grant it's distinctive. Distinctively bad.
  4. No we had payphones and house phones back then !
  5. I shook his hand once. Still can't feel my fingers !
  6. Just think it depends on which youth club you went to in late 60's. Only takes a couple of people to be into soul music [not necessarily embryonic Northern] and there's your gateway. Certainly my experience. I even dj'd once or twice at a local YC in Hazel Grove playing Motown, Atlantic/Stax and club/Northern like Billy Butler, Fascinations, Tommy Neal, Darrell Banks, Gene Chandler that were still on the shelves back then. One time the YC must have booked a dj and from what I remember it was early Northern/rare/club whatever like Al Kent and Contours.
  7. I've got this. Soul/reggae cross. Reissued on Jazzman
  8. Sold it now Phil.
  9. I've got Sky package with Skycinema which now includes Paramout+. Amazon, Disney, Netflix and Apple TV. I like sci-fi / fantasy of which there is little to none on the main channels.
  10. Just came across it this morning when I was trying to figure a value.

  12. Thanks. His was VG, mine is more or less mint. I see it has been reissued/booted ?
  13. I've never bought a 45 as a long term investment though obviously bought many cheaper to turnaround and sell at a profit as all of us have done. I would have thought UK sellers today perhaps have more of an advantage than previously, what with exchange rate, cost of postage, 20% VAT and US sellers expecting UK prices and often more. Albeit if you source your sales off eBay or Discogs UK sellers will have no option but to increase price to take into account rising costs. I have to agree with Solidsoul though in that I see loads of decent cheaper end records unsold on various sites just because they're overpriced. I noticed that a lot when I did those 2 cheap lists recently. I couldn't believe when comparing prices what sellers expected to get for some of them.
  14. What's that going for nowadays. Got a copy but not that keen. Saw a copy sell at £600 [supposedly] on Darren Brown's site. Thanks
  15. I just think buyers like to feel they've got a bargain whether known or unknown ? And as to exchange rate paying for postage from USA yesterday PayPal rate was $1.13 to £1 !
  16. Vast majority of the 45s on offer are VG+ so can have odd marks and sometimes minimal noise during intro. However they are not trashed copies and nice condition. Anyone not happy with condition can return with no problem [see my sales feedback]. Hopefully cheap enough for their overall condition. Please PM to order. Postage depends on how buyers want any orders sent. . Just cost of postage. First class recorded is around £3.50. My PayPal is Modrod52@hotmail.co.uk ..... 17. CODs are usually battered.
  18. VG++to M-. Very nice copy £50 Please PM
  19. OK the delivery wasn't great but for an American he had a basic grasp of the history of the scene and the symbol itself. Maybe he could have been a little more emphatic and stressed that this was just a mistake. If it had to be done a dj or two doing a spot with a few people waving on the float ?
  20. Side Effect album says words by Paul Allen. Credits on Laws Blue Note 75 demo state writers as Laws and Jeffery only.
  21. I've got a copy of "Third finger far-right hand" if you're interested
  22. Exciting ! We're about to be cancelled.
  23. Amsterdam Russ's first paragraph sums it up for me when it comes to Northern. However I do buy quite a lot of reggae 12"s and 7"s mainly from 70's and 80's as to me they're very affordable. I did treat myself to a mint Soul Bros "Train to Skaville" on Ska-Beat which was expensive but nothing like Northern prices. As for so called cheapies I was amazed at the prices and number of unsold copies of 45s on Discogs when I did that 50p and above list on here this past week. 45s that haven't sold on my list for £2 are £5 and above on Discogs.
  24. I'd say higher end VG to VG+ SOLD Plays fine, Some "foxing" on label. £60 Please PM For bargain hunters I've added 16 45s to cheap list.
