am i right in saying that it was issued in the uk 18 months after the usa release and probably down to plays on the uk soul scene.. i mean its one ive always known as a young un due to northern soul ...was this the case

my copy looks the same as daves. in the runout it says 60060-1A then theres what looks like 3 letter L squiggiled together laid on their side......on the youre twenty one today side the runout is 60059-RE- 1 then about an inch away from that it says 1A and then 4 x L`s laid on their side. mine is a vinyl copy. i know theres styrene copies and also the `you love` mispresses on vinyl also

dont think tony means the stamped plain yellow boot dave..theres a couple or 3 variations of the orig too

lets just stick to the fact its a boot bob....orig green nashville stamped is the only way to go. it gets unnecessarily complcated after that and besides it might deter people from paying daft money for it

its been cleared up many times....not orig 60`s but made about 15 years ago

yes tempests is 42790 so that means tempests is dec 68 ..nov at the very earliest..18 months after the lp and the last of the other smash 45s anyway gettin sidetracked a little an goin off topic a bit. but its handy info if u dont know

ive dated it to jan 69 ish lol.ok maybe even dec 68 ....theres a 5 figure digit number on all the mercury/philips fontana smash brand of labels below the main catalogue number that ties all these labels together. a handy thing to know if you need to date stuff. i could delve further but i`ll leave that to the anoraks

then it should be on the typical mid 60`s label design.................it is not its on the one used from 69 onwards like kelly garrett etc ( with the mercury logo next to smash)..in fact they follow each other as releases.. the other tempest releases ( on the lp) are quite a bit earlier.. ....might have to do a bit more digging
