  3. What a great 45. I paid £75 for an issue last year - There's been a couple on ebay recently for about £60 too. There's been a few sold on here so you should be able to get reasonably quickly. Link to recent sold one HERE! Funny I did a Google search for you Paul and the mis-spelled Soulclub title is available to buy here.... So what's all that about then???????? https://www.northernsoulmusic.co.uk/p7.html Best regards Rich PS: Eboney Essence - Fair bit more.

Bored so doing a bit of anal discog work... Have a few on this label with 2 different designs (I assume they're the same label as the numbering fits) - But seem to be a lot of blanks on the one I've got. Anyone any ideas? TIA. Also a link to TT discography courtesy of Dave's excellent site. https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/ttate.htm Maria - While you at it - KENT issued the complete KoKo singles recently - which is another dead cert in my book. Also, in the meantime please check the Luther Ingram recent material (if you dont have it /any already). Blinding soul - How I Miss My Baby & Searching For My Love ESSENTIAL 45s!!!! Best Rich

From their website Kev - Have to agree it is a very very version. 'Too Much Love Makin' is featuring the singer Jacki Hicks. Jacki worked closely with the band Matt Bianco, touring Japan, Indonesia and Europe with them and appearing on their albums "Gran Via", "Another Time : Another Place" and a re-recording of their greatest hits called "A Collection". She can also be heard on albums of Shakatak ("Under Your Spell") as backing singer and saxophonist or Beatifik ("The Blue Window"). Recently she published the solo-project "Spellbound". The song was originally recorded by Gloria Scott in 1974 produced by Barry White. In Germany we call such a tune an "Ohrwurm" that means a hooking dance floor-hit. Rich
  14. Have to agree there Jocko - Simply one of the best releases I've listened to for a long time. If no-one knows it go to Soulscapes site and have a listen - You wont be disapointed. Rich
  15. What so we all have to have been around since Wigan etc to champion a 45 do we? Love it or loathe it - its obviously going to be a big tune in the next few months - Whether it'll have longevity I don't know - But who cares? I'm (or have been) been b****** bored of oldies but it's each to their own and I think new tunes like this could well bring a lot of new fans/collectors etc to the northern / rare soul scene. Something has to help the scene carry on and when something does come along which might do that - It gets slagged off! Never mind eh? Rich

Cheers Roger. Does the IHFIY issue command more then? I would of thought so. Best Rich
  17. Agreed. I don't go to venues as such anymore but what a fantastic idea. Can the mods do anything? Mike? Just think the money you save could be spent on much worthwhile things like 45s! Rich

Last one on POPSIKE went for £500 on Aussie 45 in 2005 (Thought there'd been one since then but could be wrong). Not sure about value now but sure is a hard one. The sampler looks a bargain! Find it amazing that it was issued in Australia on 45 but never issued (or even promo'd!) on US! Rich

About a tenner for a minter? Rich
  20. Harrogatesoul posted a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Certainly one that fetches daft money and cheap money on ebay all the time. Sold two UK copies on Ebay over the years - EX condition - one for about a tenner another for 35! Would have thought 15/20 would be fair - Demos much harder. Cracking tune btw. Rich

Bang 'em on ebay - You'd be (or should be) very surprised at what some of the 70s boots fetch. Not uncommon for some to sell for 20/30/40 quid or more. if condition is fine then you'll have no problems selling them. Hope this helps. Rich
  22. My advice is SHOP AROUND - In the case Manny Corchado - Original?? £150??? May be wrong. OR you get the LEGIT re-issue on JAZZMAN records. It's all about what you can afford. If a seemingly expensive 45 looks too cheap (especially on ebay) then you HAVE to have suspicions. Yes get the Bootleg guide but save yourself some brass and JUST ASK on here Matt - There's plenty of people on here who are only too willing to help. Welcome to the vinyl addicts club! Best Rich
  23. Know here your coming from Matt - but I think in this day & age an independant singer/group/label can rely on other means of recieving income on their material. Downloads / CDBaby etc etc. Perhaps it's a question of finance rather than 'manufactured' rarity. A lot of us are hyping it because IMHO it is a great track. There may be only a small amount worldwide who MUST have it on 45 and if a demand can be created surely it would stand the group/label in good stead for future releases alongside the armchair listeners / club goers etc who are happy to purchase it on CD or download. Best Rich
  24. KGF? KFC? ......KTF!!! But please no KRL.................. Rich
  25. Tailor made??? Comparisions to Duffy??? There'a a huge gulf between something like The 4 Vandals & an artist like Duffy (who has the full weight and financial support of a major record company) In my very honest opinion KGF are the little guys just like so many of our favourite rare soul & funk 45s we have come to love from so many small labels from the 60s & 70s. How can they not be influenced by soul funk latino etc when they come from the worlds greatest musical melting pot! Fully agree with Epic about just because its made with a retro feel its aimed at us lot! I think its b******y great that people like KGF & many other soul/funk groups are out there plying their trade in clubs etc and relying on little 45 sales just like they were decades ago. Embrace & enjoy! Best Regards Rich (Who's a bloomin' ballad sweet & deep soul collector!
