  1. Paul, What do you want to know about it? I think I bought this as a new release in the mid/late 80’s. It’s released on both 7 & 12”, If you look at the credits the people mentioned are very Memphis based including production credit by his brother, so would assume another Memphis label even thought it doesn’t mention it. Was played at a few 2-Step do’s, I attended at the time. The previous Sharp Mouth release was Angela Cruse — Making Love / Secret Lover, which was also a bit of a stepper and I’ve only seen a 12” release of this. Looking at a picture of it the 12" says its "recorded at Willie Mitchell's Studio" so looks like Sharp Mouth was a Memphis label.
  2. I've never been of the opinion that a DJ is there to educate you, as it’s your choice to look for new things that may interest you, not to be spoon fed. For me the DJ's responsibility it is to help you enjoy yourself when your on a night out, nothing else.
  3. Its a tiny Memphis label which issued both the XI chains singles first. Its quite strange that the powers that be at XI chains decided to swap the flips of each record for their releases, so each XI chains release has a side from each of the separate Black Magic releases, if I've explained myself enough...
  4. ********** CD Swap Now Closed **********
  5. Tony its yours, just pm me with your address as I havent got it any more.
  6. Ok, one place left, so who wants it?
  7. I'd like to keep it as open as possible. 22 definates and one possible
  8. Got 20 definates and 2 possibles. Those who have already shown interest on the previous CD swap pm or have sent through your contact details are in for this one. I’m going to restrict it to 25 participants, so looking for 3 more to join, after which I’ll close this thread.
  9. Got 18 definites and one possible so far.
  10. Steady there Mr T, not everyone's mind has those dark warped places. btw, are you going to Essence?
  11. Okay, got 17 participants so far, so its filling up fast. If you fancy some fun pm me your details.
  12. Dave, Probably a max of 20/25 people for this one, depending on interest. 26 people did the last one and more than that makes it a bit pricy on postage, even if you’re a cheapskate like me who sends them 2nd class. Got 12 people interested so far.
  13. Oh, you are showing your age.
  14. As the Xmas & New Year celebrations become a distant memory and the harsh reality of 2013 becomes clear. What better than to blow away those New Year blues with a CD Swap. The last one was a great success with many tunes added to the wants list. So, if you fancy showing what a mighty fine collection you’ve got, highlighting your top tips for 2013 or you just fancy making the other swappers ears bleed, go on and give it a go…… All you need is to send me your contact details (real name and postal address), burn a CD of music, send it to the other recipients and wait for the CD’s to start dropping onto your doormat, it’s that easy. Numbers will be limited, so PM me with your contact details and we can get the ball rolling.
  15. It was a top 20 hit and he was also on Top Of The Pops, it must have sold shed loads...
  16. This is the most complete Guinness one I know of https://forbiddeneye.com/labels/guinness.html
  17. The original label is red, the re-press is more pink than red. The text on the original is bigger and bolder and the re-press is small and more of a modern type. They used to sell the re-pressed on their web site. A picture of the flip of the original https://www.popsike.com/Willie-Mallory-You-went-back-on-what-you-said-Lanor/370559616901.html A picture of the re-press https://www.popsike.com/rare-Soul-45-WILLIE-MALLORY-you-went-back-LANOR/310316418353.html
  18. Go for the original Demon CD, now thats a hard one to find.......
  19. It’s a shame SoulTalk no longer exists there was a shed load of stuff on there not readily available else ware on the net. Is there anyway of incorporating some of its content into Soul Source, to keep the information alive?
  20. It wasn't a minter either.
  21. Knowing the type of stuff played, which I enjoyed a lot as there were some very diverse guests. I would have thought it would have been hard to find a show sponsor as an ideal partner would have been a record dealer or shop. But that would have meant plugging their stock and I think the show moved a bit too exclusive musically to warrant that type of financial support. This is not meant to be a dig at any of the music played by the way.
  22. There's one on popsike https://www.popsike.com/7-Inch-vinyl-RicTic-San-Remo-Golden-Strings-Ric-Tic/190383364048.html
  23. I like this as well, a nice left field duet. It's very much in the same ilk as the recent Martha High & Speedometer LP, which I also like a lot too.
  24. Give Mark Merry's Soul Sermon on Starpoint a go. Full of quality contemporary soul from both new and established artists
  25. But it doesnt have the original spider, surely thats gotta knock a few quid off of the finishing price
