  1. Thought that was a very rich price for one of those although I dont think they turn up much.

I thought they were a fine looking group........
  3. Although not from the Wand demo or Karma singles, it looks like the Kent LP Dancing 'Til Dawn credits Ashford & Armsted as writers.

Okay, well I thought I'd help out and send my Tommie Young LP sleeve through to Ian's people for scanning. I sent it recorded delivery and I've been told by Royal Mail that it's "lost". So I've got a P58 form and i need prove the value of it. Any ideas as to how I can prove the value of it? By the way, if anyone has a copy of an original LP, the record condition can be completely trashed as I just need a good quality sleeve. I'd be really greateful.
  5. I'm very intrigued as to this. To my knowledge this single isn't in any US Stax discography's I know of, as there aren't any missing numbers. So it must be a UK or foreign released single. Did Stax ever release anything in Guatemala?
  6. So Glad You Came Along and Now You're Gone from Smoke's J-Bridge LP The two VOEH Just Sunshine LP's are chocked with great LP only Dancers and steppers.
  7. Steve, Do you mean I Can't Stand The Lonliness on Stax 7"?

This scan from popsike. Always thought the label name sounded like a sexually transmitted disease
  9. I thought it was a great podcast too, and included the first Chocolate Buttermiilk Band single on CBM. Which I got completely spanked on when it came up on ebay a couple of weeks ago.
  10. Don Bryant - Can I Change My Mind - Precious Soul LP, Hi or UK London. A very credible cover.
  11. Just out of interest, which one of her 3 release on Flaming arrow is this?
  12. Apart from price, theres a significant difference between the LP and the 7". The 7" is much more puchier and IMO the LP version seems quite flat.
  13. I know Sam takes 12"s and gets 7" carvers of them.
  14. Is it on Sly or the re-issue on New Wave

You pipped me to the post on this Bob. By the way, do you sleep? Had a few replies and have gone d'oh! How could I have not thought of them, especially Dottie & Millie. You can see there are some obvious holes in my collection.

Don't know what you mean???? It's not like I'd be silly enough to spell female incorrectly in the title, would it......

There are many male soul duo's like: Same & Dave, Mel & Tim, Eddie & Ernie and many many more. We've got boy/girl combo's: Marvin/Tammi, Edwin/Blinky, Ashford/Simpson and again many more. But what about female soul duo's. The only one I can think of at the moment are the Soul Sisters who recorded on Sue, but apart from that I don't think I've got or know of any more. Please put me out of my misery and give me some more.
  18. 5 people like this post so far. Is it because they like that Ted's selling it, they like the condition, they like the price or all three? I've liked it cos, I like other peoples likes....

Although I wasn't around at the time, to me it doesn't really feel like a 70's record. I'd say more like 81/82.

Thought Ian got them from Jesse Butler himself

The "2nd" issue always seemed to be offered between 25 - 50% lover than the "1st" issue
  22. My Bobby Kline beats you in price, but your Bobby Garrett beats me on bpm's. I want a pack.
  23. No wonder other dance scenes and forums mock Soul Source for being up its own a*se. The LP vs 7" debate is the evil twin of the OVO debate. LP tracks have the same validity as the 7" and no one should ever look down on someone playing one or the other. There are some LP's that are 10 times rarer and higher in price compared to the 7" releases, and they're not always higher because of LP only tracks. Saying that some LP's have a lower sound quality and maybe different track lengths or mixes, but still say a 7" shouldn't trump it just because it has a 7" release. For me there are quite a few tracks that I prefer on LP and 12" than 7". It should be about personal taste.
  24. IMO it aint that much cop, the soundtracks 100 times better

He only did Can't Let You Go/I Hired A Girl, the others were done by Gary Sherman
