  3. I think it's possibly too stop/start to be played out (although I'm probably wrong). The slow beginning is nearly a minute long of a 3 minute tune. Its really only the chorus thats up tempo. Love the strings at the beginning. Cheers, John
  4. Its been a bad week. Got a new PC recently and still can't get my deck working with it (and I've given people stick for having trouble). I'm also in the middle of a 3 month notice period, which is dragging. At least the postie has been kind to me this week. Nothing like a good bit of deep to cheer you up . John, Thanks, I'll contact Lisa.
  5. Although a rare record, maybe demand for this has been over estimated? Does anyone know if the one, which Anglo auctioned (starting at a grand), sold? I am shocked at the price, someone got a good deal. It might have been another matter, if my bl**dy logon to the auction part worked, . Been trying to logon for at least two weeks and even registered again (but that one doesn't work either), just for this auction, I'm not particularly happy today.
  6. Its not been that for a while, but you can get lucky.
  7. I'm in between computers, so still need to transfer lots of files over so cant post it up. Pep Brown was posted in the thread below /index.p...60712&st=50 IMO all of his tunes are ones to have, even the other Lava which is probably his weakest.

I dont remember it being on any LP, I thought this was only on the extended Lets Get It On CD.
  12. It's not mid/uptempo but Eddie Houston - Thats How Much (I Love You), is a cracker.
  13. I've been looking for one for a while, wish I knew this existed, it would have saved me some time.

  15. Sean, I have to say that the third one IMO is the most powerful of them. As soo as I read it, Al Greens pleading came straight into my head. Was it a sucess? John

What defines the difference between a reissue and local/general release? Just a few more of the top of my head. Frankie Saunders - Juanna/Sho-Boat Mary Holmes - Philly Groove/Del Valiant David Sea - T-Jaye/Hi-Tyde Gifted Four - Hamito-Semitica/CSC
  17. If the film is the Five Heartbeats, it was supposed to be losely based on the Dells. During it's release there were comments in the soul music press that the Dells had a cameo apprearence, but their bit was left on the cutting floor for the final cut. I think its a cracking film and the screen version of A heart Is A House For Love is very good.
  18. Gareth, A seller on Gemm has a Canadian 12" copy with a length of 4.53, from memory the 7" is quite long too. I tried to look on my Ipod, but I haven't burned it yet , why not.... If nobody posts up a reply before I get home from work, I'll have a look tonight. Surely longer the better on this tune. Is up, up and down, down..... Cheers, John

The title track to the PIR LP Heres a link with a catalog number of a Jap CD, not sure if it helps much, though https://oop.onlineshopperweb.info/#ANTHONY%20WHITE John ps and another link https://www.funkytowngrooves.com/item.php?_...446&_sid=11
  20. I remember Jonathon Moore playing Leon Austin - Turn Me Loose at a rare groove do in London and then heard it a few years later at a northen do. But I don't know what "scene" played it first. There was also a lot of Philly Stuff Norman Jay played that I've heard at both do's, but again I don't know where it was played first.
  21. Latimore did a great slowed down version on his Only Way Is Up Malaco LP from 91.
  22. This was the topic in the Media Source section from September /index.php?showtopic=55941
  23. Cheers Sean, It's an absolute cracker. John
  24. I listened to Seans CD last night and he included it on that. For some reason I think it sounds different to the single i've got. Is it just me or is it from the LP Def-I-Ni-Tions Sean was it from the single or LP? Cheers, John
