  1. I only really know about the issue, could be horribly wrong about the demo
  2. Not too sure about the difference between issues or demos, but would have thought John
  3. Bill Withers held the world record with 18 seconds (but that was on a "Hit" record) until 2000 when A-Ha beat him. https://www.everyhit.com/record7.html I always thought the end of Ebo's - I'd Rather Be By Myself, was very long.
  4. The thing that puzzles me about this record is the "local" release on Sho-Me apart from the different artist name, is that it's publish/copyright date is 1982, whereas the Juana copy states 1981. Was the song originally sold to Juana before the release on Sho-Me and then released on Juana after good local sales?
  5. Expanding this to an LP John Edwards - Life, Loving and Living on Cotillion The Sweet and the Meat sides
  6. Apart from ebay, I haven't seen "dealers" have it at less than £75 for quite awhile. John

A great tune and a great show both completly cheesey. Can Charo's version be included in the Salsoul "great and the good" thread
  8. Thanks Rich, I cant get access to popsike at work, so have been unable to look. I have an mp3 of it (can remember where I got it from) and it came up on my ipod whilst on holiday. I don't remember ever hearing it out or on my Ipod before and know nothing about it apart from finding it on the rarest of the rare section on John Manships site this morning. So I could be in for a shock price wise if it ever comes up. Cheers, John
  9. I havern't listened to the file, but if it is Edee. It was released on the even smaller local label as Edde Leatherwood on Chi-heat. This label also has a release by LV Johnson, who too went on to record for ICA. John
  10. Can anybody give me a ballpark price of this please? John
  11. One of the records that introduced me to disco/soul was Double Exposure 10%
  12. It came out on both a 7" and 12", with "where will it end" on the other side. Smashing tune...
  13. Titles tend to get a bit weirder, when you more closer to the funk and blues recordings Jesse Boone - You Cant Be A Monkey Woman - Atlantic/Bruboon Frank Lucus - I Want My Mule Back - ICA (other side to good thing man) Randy Brown - Love Formula 69 - Choc City LP
  14. The A-side to this is Let's Go Humpin'
  15. I've sort of fell out of love for Northen over the last few years. My preference though, has always been for Southern Soul whatever the decade it was recorded in.
  16. There used to be a dancer in Spearmint Rhino's (not too long ago), who liked the philly sound of PIR. She said that she liked them cos her dad used to play them when she was little. Any of you guys out there, got a lap dancing daughter? It's also happy hour with 2 for 1 drinks from 5-7pm, which makes the beers good value.
  17. As the releases are about 4 years apart, are the versons of Crying Clown on Triple B and Awake the same?
  18. Bobby Taylor - Don't Be Afraid from Taylor Made Soul LP Barbara McNair - It happens Every Time & Forget You Ever Met Me Baby both from the Real Barbara McNair LP
  19. John Reed replied to Paul-s's topic in Record Sales
Their Decca release "I'm giving up baby" is an absolute cracker
  20. Here is a scan of the other side of Jean Plum - Here I Go Again. I don't know how rare it is, but I cant remember seeing an issue listed. John
  21. Gentlemen, thanks for helping me out with my anorak fix. John
  22. Wow , this has shot up in price in the last few months and I see Pat Brady has one for £150.
  23. I was up in the loft yesterday, clearing out the remains of a wasp nest we had exterminated. While up there I found a load of papers I'd fogotten about, old Soul Bowl, Anglo, Black Knight lists, etc... After reading through some of them and getting very depressed, I binned them. Also in the rubbish were a few attemps at a couple of discographies. The one I've dug out is Clintone. I've looked on various sites to see if any have one, but I cant find any. I know Mr Plumb mentioned in an old Voices that he was compiling one for a future issue, but I don't have many later ones and its not in ones i've got. Can anybody help me fill in the gaps? 001 Rozetta Johnson - Mine Was Real/A Womans Way 002 Phase Four - It Takes More Than A Moment/I'm So Glad ???? 003 Rozetta Johnson - Who You Gonna Love/I Can Feel My Love Coming Down 004 Jean Battle - I've Got To Come In/Unsatisfied Woman 005 Black Haze Express (Sam Dees) - Won't Nobody Listen/Pretty Soon 006 Rozetta Johnson - Chained & Bound/Holding The Losing Hand 007 Rozetta Johnson - To Love Somebody/Cant You Just See Me 008 Rozetta Johnson - How Can We Lose Something We Never Had/Personal Woman 009 C L Blast - Leftover Love/Fools Love 010 Sam Dees - Claim Jumping/I'm So Very Glad 011 C P Love - Husband-In-Law/Fools Love 012 Blast Furnace Band & The Grapevine - Hammering Jack/Hammering Jack (Pt 2) 013 014 015 Gary Branch - The Mayaguez/???? 016 Roszetta Johnson - (I Like Making That) Early Morning Love/It's Been So Nice 017 Alpaca Phase III - Love At First Sight/Bump & Wind Apart from the missing numbers, I'm not sure on the following: Is Phase Four, I'm So Glad, the other side of 002? Was CP Love on on a single sided demo? I had a look on Gemm this morning and found 015 Gary Branch, I've never heard of it and by the sound of the title doesnt sound a soul record to me, maybe this was reggae record on Clintones that had the "s" missed off when the updated their list. I'm sure you guys can help me out? Cheers, John
  24. Dan, Thinking back to to the do's he used to run in London especially in the around the time you mentioned he was playing Xover stuff such as Janice, George Hughley, Kenni Lewis, etc.. 5 years before before Rod Dearlove coined the term in Voices. I suppose like a lot of people who went to these gigs at the time, we picked up a lot of these type of tunes before they shot up in price. John
