  1. Although not generally played at Northern venues until quite recently, this and his A&M release You Put Me In a Groove, have been played at more funk oriented venues for many years. I first came across this in the late 80s when trawling for James Brown related releases as he was in the Midnighters, with Hank Ballard and has a few writer credits, so I did further digging. Funny enough, its these releases where I first saw the name of Bunny Jones which then led me to the Millionaires and the Dealers on Bunny/Big Bunny.
  2. The amount of increased paperwork and costs involved in sending stuff to the UK has put a lot of US sellers off from selling to the UK.
  3. The original release of Always In The Mood was the B-side to I'd Rather Hurt Myself, the demo copies are single sided.
  4. There are three different red sleeves that I know of. One which is the same as the brown sleeve with Creed, Abet, Excello, etc icons on the white bottom half of the sleeve. The other two are similar both with a red top banner. One has the white bottom half with label names with the rows alternating between black and red text. The other one has a top banner which is much smaller and the black and red alternating text is more like 3/4 of the sleeve.
  5. I ordered from the website on boxing day and it arrived this morning. They're probably trying to deal with a significant amount of order volume.
  6. If you're talking about that Jackin Disco monstrosity, think they've only released it on a 7". Also, don't really understand who this series is aimed at and they all look a bit booty to me as well as being poor re-edits.
  7. I always thought this was one of the previously unreleased tracks from Maxx, Vee Jay or one of Bobby Robinson's label's, used to cash-in on Knight's success with Midnight Train To Georgia on Buddah, after leaving Motown. The Springboard subsidiary Trip also released some "budget" LPs on Knight on 1973/74 containing retrospective recordings, with labels in the UK (Pickwick/Hallmark) as well in Europe releasing the same/similar stuff.
  8. Does anyone have a copy that they're willing to sell of Al Green - God Blessed Our Love / Take Me To The River - South African Hi 7" Needs to be Ex+ at least. Many thanks in advance
  9. I don't think it was just him, his family are difficult to deal with as well. Around 20 years ago I posted Stormy Love Affair on my YouTube channel, it was on there for about 10 years, before one of his family accused me of making money off of this recording and threatened to sue.
  10. There are occasions where the Kent releases differ from the released records as sometimes the master tapes don't specify what version it is. There was a thread on here regarding the subject quite a few years ago.
  11. Do you want the original promo 12" on Al & The Kid from 1980, the first 7" reissue on Fynal Vynal from 1985 or the 2nd 7" reissue on Bunky from 1990?
  12. That picture doesn't look right to me and is different to my copy that I've had for about 35 years. Apologies for the picture quality as the lights too low. The band name and song title are the same font, whereas the earlier picture the fonts are a different size. I have a vague recollection of those popping up in the the 2000's.
  13. The Dickie Wonder release is slightly different compared to a straight reissue as its the only way to get his version of All My Friends Call Me A Fool, which has its own champions especially on the West Coast Low Rider scene.
  14. It got released as both a 78 and 7". It's Sun 257, with Shoobie Oobie on the other side.
  15. Charley reissued the LP in 1985, are they reissuing it again?
