There wasn't and isn't loads of the first issue, with the correct Archer stamp! There are loads of fake archer stamp copies and loads of the legal repress (Soul Bowl) without the Archer stamp, but the true first issue has always been rare and never been around in any quantity!

The buyer of that Eddie Parker will be missing something! A true first issue! This is a picture of the rare true first issue of Eddie Parker with the proper ARCHER stamp. It is a rare record and not many people have one!

Great video, really enjoyable to see. It took me back to those days. Those were proper allnighters, running to 8am in the morning💥! Not like so called allnighters now that end at 3.30am.

I'm not sure how rare the small print variant is, but it seems to crop up slightly less than the large print copies. But I don't think there is much difference in rarity. Nevertheless I do think the large print design looks better!

That Sweet Breeze thing is a nice soul record, but why that price? £3616.00. Sort of thing that would have been lucky to sell back in the day! Is it really worth two original copies of Daybreak? Ted Taylor way overpriced! The High Numbers - Zoot Suite ? It looks like a lot of these quirky records are going for big money and traditional good sellers are not making as much or keeping the interest that they did! Well that's how it looks to me but I suppose trends and interest change over time. But overall I still think Manship is getting great prices compared to most other sellers🤔

Ohh threatening talk! This is a site for opinions and this topic asked for opinions on couples ballroom dancing together at Northern Soul events. That was my opinion and it was not personal to you or anyone in particular, so I don't think it should sink down to the level of threats!

As a traditional Northern Soul fan I think it's a divvy thing to ballroom dance together in couples, at Northern Soul events! But then these people can't have much respect for Northern Soul to do it! I was at an alldayer and some couples, who were into Ballroom dancing, did there ballroom rehearsed routines all day long. It did not matter which record was playing! It spoils the dance floor atmosphere, nearly as bad as having young kids clowning about on the dance floor!

On an interview Lorraine Chandler said she had them repressed, but the repress did not have the ARCHER stamp. See picture with view of the rare first issue original stamp. But if people want to pretend the reissues or counterfeits are originals then that's up to them!

A lot of the time, once it got later than 4 or 5 o'clock there was no one on the door. People where coming and going after that time unchecked. It seemed to me they had made their money for that night, so weren't bothered about hanging around for the dribs and drabs after that.

If it has not got the raised numbers under the label, how do you know if it's an original?

Yes there are some red and white label issue copies that look very original, but don't appear to have the raised letters under the label. And also as Happy Feet mentions, the modern day lookalike. The 70's boot was a mid green label pressed on styrene. Or the speeded up version credited to Moses Smith on a dark green Sandbag label.

The Prophets was the original recording on US Smash/ UK Mercury. It was remade a few years later by Philly legend Bobby Martin and credited to the Creation. This was on US Eric records/UK Stateside. I think both are great versions of this very Northern and exciting production.

This seems to be the normal manner for USA record shop owners. 😠😤
