finding an unwrapped hubba bubba and a fiver in my jacket pocket from the last 100 club

a legend, very sad

And wouldn't you rather have DJs out there buying the rare records and playing them on the UK soul scene than not?' I think DJs like Mick are great, particulary after visiting Lifeline and hearing the DJs there playing not just rare records but quality obscurities and records that you just don't hear anywhere else. Theres nothing better than hearing new sounds of excellent calibre and even better when they are in plentiful supply. Very keen on Mick's Anita Humes CU too, a belting record. ps. Anyone know how many copies of the Royal Imperials on Mellow Town are knocking about??

got to agree re: Willie Wright over Elipsis.....its got credit credentials to start with and the production and everything is just fantastic. Had no idea it was so rare though. That second Soul Spectrum Keb complied is one of the best comps I've heard, as in virtually every record on there is a complete winner. And its got Flowers on

Good call on Junior McCants, thats an amazing recording as daft rare as well.......

I've had a nightmare with styrene.....bought a Jesse Johnson that was muffed like that, and my Little Tommy is pretty worn too. Also the hairline crack thing in styrene is a complete shocker....nearly fainted when I found that on one styrene record, checked the others and found more of the same.....scary!

Hi I had contact with Al a year or so ago when I got 'You Know You Turn Me On' and 'Try To Understand' off him. Hes got one on orange Moon too thats apparently very good....not sure what it is though. A very nice bloke indeed, and no he hasn't got a Monzas although I think he knew them....he was kind enough to send me press clippings of his band days, the one on the top left. Starnge places for records like that to turn up.' I know someone that turned up a mint Timi Yuro on Liberty in the same place.......had some luck on some British soul bits but certainly no finds of that quality.....doubly gutting as I've just bought an RM (although for a great price) and I only live just round the corner!
