Soft Soul copy has be upward of £1k i would of thought in today’s bonkers climate.

First one is Morris 'Jazzy' Miller 'What People Say Is The Story'. Original copy pretty rare but probably got some sort of Jazzman / Athens of the North/ etc etc etc reissue in the last 10 years.

JC has gone for a £1500 a few times recently and at the same time both on ebay and auctions £500 odd. Even weirder that it is going cheaper on John’s auctions. Really odd one price wise. Doesn’t get enough love imho as it is a fantastic stormer and the playout on it is brilliant. Love it. Maybe it is just an out of vogue type of sound these days?

I was surprised by this one too, but i think that smokey poppy vocal isn’t for everyone. The male voice that comes in halfway through is magical though, shame they don’t revisit that conceit in it again. Am a fan of the record personally btw.

Whats particularly nuts about this JB price is there is a clean issue sat on Adey P’s site for a grand, and has been there for a while. I just can’t work out what leads people yo pay these prices. When the most basic Google search will find them cheaper for you. I think JB is one of the best northern records ever, but paying 6 times it’s realistic price is utterly bonkers. It also kind of f*cks it for young collectors who might want a copy. If ‘not rare’ records are now £1800 odd what hope is there for them?

Read this article this morning and it just made me feel really disheartened for so many reasons, some of which have been mentioned above. Personally i loathe the BBC (all that ‘Auntie’ horsesh*t grinds my gears) and would like to see the conniving, insidious, corporation shut down, again for many reasons.

Totally agree; this is a great night run by top people who love the music every bit as much as the most devout ‘old’ soul fans. It’s the only way to keep the best music ever made alive and it’s the natural order of things. Just good people having a great time to great records.
