This bloke has been trying this stuff on for years, no one ever touches these comedy 45s he tries to sell - to my knowledge. As Benji said one chancer trying it on doesn’t mean the scene is f*cked. Plenty of other things that could screw it other than this guy’s antics. Fully agree it isn’t pleasant to think he would try and take someone for that much money though.

Actually i feel much better about it all now, think I needed that pep talk. Hearing about people's 10p 70's finds always puts things into perspective. The collecting classic cars analogy really hit home with me too. Not sure what i was worrying about really. Thanks guys! 👍

John Bowie for me if one of the best northern records of all time, easily in my top ten. But in terms if rarity £1500 is just as daft as that Carstairs price recently. At this rate i won’t be able to buy another 45 ever again. I’ve given up crossing off records i now can't afford off a list. Truly depressing and to be honest hard to get excited about a scene like this. A scene made up of just rich old blokes and their big wallets. Sounds like great fun.

That YT channel by Gasmaskheadhunter has some 45s on it, that guy has a pretty amazing collection, especially having multiple rare releases of the same record. Think there’s even a Prophets on Shrine in there too.

Agree i think as these things go is was a good segment and J&C came across great. Also like GP and thought he was very genial and genuine: liked it overall! We are not in an underground scene anymore and just need to accept that. It is what it is.
