Soul in the Sun Tommy Hunt
Must have been a bigger gap between recording and release than I thought. Definately around as an mp3 in 2007, just took 3 years to put out a single.

THE BLUE SHARKS: THE SOUL SCENE'S LONGEST EVER 'COVER-UP'?
I recorded all 4 clips at same volume and quality - (mp3s at 128kbs converted from wav files at 44.1K) I agree, the LP clip does sound muffled in comparison to the 45 clip, but plays fine on deck - However the 45 is much clearer and louder than the LP.

Tainted Love instrumental on SOUL TRIBE
The first release of the inst was on an AVI 12" from early 80's

Soul in the Sun Tommy Hunt
If that's the Champion thing, then it goes back to summer 2007 (at least that's when you could get the sound files off the net). I think the record was the same time, or very soon after.

Those are promos with "Sweetest Thing" on both sides. The "Falling In Love" is on Discogs but none for sale. Previous thread is here ... Cheers Mick

Harry Lee Gates Seems to also be Louis Curry
On Lee Gates "Nothing But Wonderful", his voice does sound like "You're Just Plain Nice", and there's even more similarity between parts of the two songs themselves. I can't remember how the Equadors songs sound, so will have to have a listen, but certainly the above two are vocally pretty similar. Yes, think you are right. Cheers Mick

Near complete set of Outta Site Undinked demo records - 162
- Near complete set of Outta Site Undinked demo records - 162
I have a near complete set of Outta Site (OSV series) undinked demo records, up to and including OSV162 (Marie Knight) Rather than list them all, I'll list the ones I HAVEN'T got - there's only five. OSV117 - Ketty Lester - Some Things / Please Don't Cry OSV119 - Skip Mahoney - Janice / Don't Stop Me Now OSV125 - Barry White / Sammy Lee OSV142 - MVP's / MVP's OSV148 - Artistics / Artistics (I understand this release never had a small middle press) Most of the small middles had a large A printed on them. There is no aftermarket rubber stamping on any of these. I know there was someone who had a rubber stamp and just stamped "DJ Copy" on some of the early ones, with Borg type limited number covers (7 of 9 / 16 of 23). These did not suffer the same fate. So that's 157 records, plus a handful of specials / anniversary discs ... Velvets on red vinyl. Vibrations on white vinyl (dinked). Bobby Paris on an anniversary release. Tobi Legend / John Rhys, on Yellow Mala style label, signed by John, (normal press was Blue). Both label variations of Two Plus Two. (Green and grey label, and a Green Label). As with the main batch, these are also with solid middles, only exception is the white vinyl Vibrations, which is dinked. 162 records all together. Apart from a few, which I've played maybe once, they are all unplayed. Looking for opening offers of £1000+ for the lot. (Just over £6.00 per record). Will include UK to UK post in with the deal. Fine with UK Cheque / Paypal / Bank Tx / COD (Wolverhampton). Please PM me for any more info / address etc. Cheers Mick- Motown Related Auction 22 and 23 Feb 2017 (including the Andantes)
I think people maybe going to the wrong website (thesalesroom.com), whereas, as you say, go to Special Auction Services and follow those instructions. Here's a link ... https://www.specialauctionservices.com/large/me220217/index.html Cheers Mick Just noticed two posts up the same link- Geno Washington - If This Is Love (I'd Rather Be Lonely)
I seem to remember it being on a 10" compilation EP - a blue label, from around the same time, give or take, with four or six tracks on it. But it could have been an LP and it was farther away than I thought. Cheers Mick- Debonairs Acetate
Glad you got it OK Cheers Mick- Records signed by the artist..
All copies of that press with "YDLMA" in very large writing are the same (they simply ran the primary blank upside down. or the secondary text depending on your point of view). Copies with "YDLMA" in normal size are all OK with Decca on left. I don't know of any other Decca release like this, but there may be some, considering the size of their catalogue. Nice signature - he was around on eBay about 15 years ago, sniffing out some of his old stuff. Cheers Mick- THE BLUE SHARKS: THE SOUL SCENE'S LONGEST EVER 'COVER-UP'?
What's the going rate for the LP these days. I haven't seen anyone selling them, unless its on Facebook or similar. Cheers Mick- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
No, I get the impression that the very FIRST press of 149 ( 50129 1A) is going to be the ONLY Wand issue of "Kiss", as it was dropped in favour of "Ride" (50129 1C). By the time of 169 release, "Kiss" was a thing of the past, and the "Ride" version was the preferred version. I can't imagine Wand would try the same two versions again for 169, although stranger things have happened.- Shortest time before intro kicks in
Supremes - Stoned Love (normal release) - about 0 seconds. Cheers Mick- Blank Record Company Labels
Where are all these labels - apart from Atlantic, these seem to be R, S , T, so theres's more ?? Cheers Mick- longest time before 'title kicks in'-what is it?
Barbara McNair - "Anonymous". (It's on a BM Comp CD a few years back) - Still waiting to hear that line, up till now probably 7 years.- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
Thanks Steve, I think you said earlier that they were different versions, but which one is which. (Ride, or Kiss) Cheers Mick- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
Ok, cheers, just thought it was 149 with both- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
I'm confused, I thought it was the 149 that was in question. Isn't that the Kiss / Kent / Inferno version, with maybe some of the 149 copies being this take and maybe some aren't. As to the 169 version, aren't they all the same as UK Pye.?- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
Does that mean, if I'm reading it right, US Wand 149 is different to US Wand 169. Never knew that.- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
Just remembered, the B Side to 'Mr Creator' was this different version of 'Hand It Over'. Is this the single you mean, or was it on another release- Hand It Over-Chuck - Kent
There was definately a different version - Did it get put on a Kent LP, maybe that was it. I know the UK Inferno release (which in itself was a freebie with an LP compilation) was this different vocal take, this was sometime around 83/84 ish, and thought at the time it was taken from the Kent LP, but it's been so long. Kent 50, as posted above- Eugene Jefferson - A pretty girl dressed in brown
Originals have gold text, and reissues have grey text. There's probably other differences, but the text colour is the obvious one. Cheers Mick - Near complete set of Outta Site Undinked demo records - 162
