  1. Don't think 720 was ever issued (ie black TMG). If it was it's passed me by. As to your Question, I think the £400 quoted for Demo is about right. Cheers Mick
  2. The "Wand" Al Wilson (Not the other one) , Rubin, and Chuck Wood are all supposed to be the same. Also they / he is also supposed to be JR Bailey. I don't know if this is definite, but there was some earlier thread about it a few years ago. Just found it here ... Cheers Mick
  3. Bob Brady - More More More Of Your Love
  4. It looks like an 8 inch acetate, so that would take care of the larger run-in (being standard at 7 inch) and the perceived smaller label. Also, I don't think 8 inch acetates have large middles - I've got quite a few and they are all small middles. There could be some with large middles, just never seen any. Cheers Mick
  5. Hi Glen, Yes, I'm fine Sir. So, as I understand it, you have two copies but both are the same alternate (Atco LP) versions of both sides. Does anyone have a copy that is the original take, or is this just one press run of the Atco versions, where copies from sellers with orig soundfiles are just a mistake. Cheers Mick
  6. Do you have a copy of each to play. or is it just by going on sound clips from different listings (which are indeed different, but not necessarily the correct sound clip - I mean the sound clips don't always line up with records for sale if ripped from YouTube etc). Just a thought. However, If you do have a copy of each, there must be a difference in the matrix. Cheers Mick
  7. Probably was, I can definitely remember him announcing a Barbara Mills cover-up, and playing Velvet Love - Symphony Of Dreams - at the time a new release on UK Alaska
  8. Yes, I think so Bod, Certainly thing like the Jades on Fee and GTO's / Skullsnaps, and loads of others you see the boots around today. You could say the new vocals to the classic instrumentals (Del Satins / Shirley Matthews / Charades etc.) were just new releases, although the B sides were all boots of the instrumentals. I've never seen an Eddie Daniels boot - did they actiually exist, or was it made up, like the Rubies (I have another list from about the same time listing the new Cigarette Ashes vocal by "Judy Church" - Again, never happened). Just noticed "These Heartaches" was going to be done as Sharon Scott, but was done as Dena Barnes.
  9. Just found a scan, plus a list from SS advertising it ... This is a scan, fould it on popsike and this is a list from July 76 (posted it a while back, just copied it over to this thread) Although I never marked it on the list at the time, I ordered a few, but not James Conwell. However I did get sent one anyway, probably in place of the Rubies which never existed. I have no idea what happened to that first copy back in the 70's, but I remember getting one a few years back, and sold it immediately. Never seen another since. As I said before, probably quite rare. Cheers Mick
  10. "Love Runs Out" was booted in the seventies and credited to James Conwell Jr. on Patches (Soussan boot from about '76). The previous Stephanye boot a couple of years earlier was only "The Duck" both sides credited to Richard Temple (Let's Do The Duck). This was sped up, whereas the Patches had both "Love Runs Out" and "The Duck" at the right speed. The Patches boots seem to be quite scarce, even by the end of that decade there wern't many who even remembered them. The ebay listing is clearly not is one of these as it has Bobby Hutton on the flip. As it has a large middle, it's probably the recent boot of the 70's ABC legal reissue, as he can buy these for peanuts. Cheers Mick
  11. Should add all the "Little Togetherness" copies I've come across, including this "Millionaire" version, are Styrene (I've added that to my post above). Cheers Mick
  12. Looking at The Younghearts "Little Togetherness" Yellow Canterbury, I've had quite a few of this title variation (ie without the "A" infront of "Little Togetherness") and they have always been without the "millionaire" line. I've also had some white demos and again, just the normal short versions. I think this may also apply to "A Little Togetherness" but can't be sure as I've never really noticed. However, early last year I picked up a copy of "Little Togetherness" on Yellow Canterbury with the Millionaire line and decided it was one to keep. Label is identical to other "Little Togetherness" issues. (As the YouTube above but without the A in the title. everything else is identical) I don't have a normal one to hand to comare against, but the "Millionaire" version I have here has the following runout info ... JC 67C-506-A-RE-1 (it originally said JC 677-506-A-RE-1 but the second "7", has been overwritten with a "C") Further round is the Delta 64811 Although the "millionaire" version may (or may not) be rare on Canterbury, it is quite easy to get under the name New Younghearts on Soultown. Alongside that, all Zea copies of Kings Of Hearts are the standard short version. Cheers Mick
  13. They look very familiar, thought at first it might have been Barbara Mason and Futures, but it isn't. I'm also thinking second from the right looks a bit like Lamont Dozier with a beard. Again, i'm pretty sure it isn't.
  14. And if you're buying the record just to get "Pretty Words", will you get it ?
  15. Whilst folks are looking, I would like the following three myself ... Philadelphia - AE7 1136 Detroit - AE7 1138 Dallas - AE7 1144 Baltimore - AE7 1137 I have a spare Houston - AE7 1140 if anyone wants it Cheers Mick
  16. The standard "Group" version is as it appears on UK Mowest MW3002 in '72, a bit later on in '75 on MW3024, and much later on UK Tamla Motown MW3024. This version was also released in Australia in 1972 on Mowest and in many European countries in '75 but again, the group version. All the above are the same version and are all credited to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Apart from the album version (which I've never heard), the only single I know to of the "Solo" version with the group (almost) faded out and Frankie singing the opening lines is the Australian 1975 release, this time on Tamla Motown, and credited to Frankie Valli The solo version may exist elsewhere (eg. a Cardboard record given away in a Cuban supermarket or some such), but I don't know of any. Cheers Mick
  17. I haven't had this particuler one, but the givaway is the link to ... ybltn*********/vias/ I wouldn't recommend clicking it. In fact, Dean, it might be a good idea to edit your post and kill the link, in case someone on here clicks it. It will probably be an on line form where the user enters their card details and sends it to wherever, just not to Paypal. Cheers Mick Just checked, Firefox say it's a reported web forgery, so it's blocked, but can't speak for other browsers, one or two might let that go through.
  18. Thanks Dave, I have had a couple of pms suggesting the £1500 I figured was a bit low, and should be more in line with your figure. Cheers Mick
  19. Thanks Phil, Ivor (And Dave who messaged me) - I only had an old ss sales to go on at $3000 (about £2000) some years ago, and I don't know if that sold so might have been too much - The £1500 + does seem more realistic. Reason I'm asking is that I was lucky enough to pick one up last week (arrived yesterday) - for somewhat less than 4 figures, and might move it on. Thanks again Mick
  20. I am trying to find out more about this one, and wondered if anyone knew the approx value. I normally use Popsike etc, but can't find any previous sales on there. I found just the one on soulsource in the sales section many years ago for $3K but don't know if it sold or not. Any help would be welcome. Cheers Mick
  21. This is the repress that someone posted about 5 years ago (didn't seem that long ago) Cheers Mick
  22. Yes, Paul Kyser did do an almost identical repress. I believe he tried to pass them off as originals, and some folks were stung. There was a thread on here a few years back with scans of the looky likey, and original side by side.
  23. I'm pretty sure that both Shirley J Scott and the Prophets have never been booted, so the only grey area would be the Roy Handy, of which the boots are moulded, and originals are styrene. As to the origin of those Roy Handy boots, I'm sure they are indeed American, probably from the ususal suspect, alongside SuperDuck Cheers Mick
  24. I had car trouble and Brian lent me his AA or RAC membership card for a few weeks back in 1980 / 81 (around the time he was in a leg cast and walking on crutches). His name was clearly visible and I had to "be" Brian about three times. For the life of me I can't remember what his mame was though. I'm thinking Williamson / Wilkinson, something like that, but I could be miles out, and the more I think about it, the more I think it was something else. Anyway, happy anniversary Brian Mick
  25. I remember the Jerry Blavat LP showing a diagram and instructions on how to do "the 81". Just had a look for the image and found this. Cheers Mick
