  1. More info about this in post by me on 2nd December (dropped down page now)
  2. Sorry if this is in wrong forum but it is important. I have received an email from Pontins saying that the "deposit" payment for next March is overdue and needs to be paid immediately or my booking could be cancelled. Obviously the deposit has been paid in full or I couldn't have made the booking and according to my booking confirmation the balance is due on 11 January 2013!!!! I 'phoned Pontins head office today (no staff only security at Prestatyn on a Sunday) to be told that there had been a mix up and that the organisers wanted balances (which they are still calling deposits???) paid by November but agreed that on booking confirmations it does state 11 January 2013 which is Pontins standard terms of 8 weeks before arrival. They are insisting on some payment now (or in next few days) and agreed to take half outstanding balance immediately with rest being paid by 11 January 2013. Pontins said that they had received a few calls so others have obviously received the same email as myself. If you want to contact Pontins Head Office and not pay 10p per minute on their premium line then use 01704 882100.
  3. My daughters wedding last week. Unknown to me she had selected a few (very) mixed tunes to be played for about 10 mins before walking into wedding room. First up was Frank Wilson, complete surprise. Played to death I know but just listen to the lyrics.
  4. Hate to stop the slagging off of the chalets but.....................they (or most of them) have been refurbed!!!! Pulled in there couple of weeks ago after staying over at the Dudno do at Llandudno. New flooring (it's lino but looks like wooden laminate!!!) new table & chairs new leather (look??) bed settee plus new units, possibly new beds and a good lick of paint outside and in. Balcony railings also been painted. Work still underway but a massive improvement. Best site was a mountain of the old bed settees piled up on one of the lawns, wish I'd taken a photo now.
  5. I'm flying the plane mate! Already got you down for a couple of tickets!!!

  8. Yes. Sally Carman https://www.sallycarman.co.uk/
  9. Soul Suite still going strong and also Divine owned by Joe Harriott in Fanabe. Both more into live acts rather than records but a good night out when on holiday. Also a lot of "Soul/Motown" acts doing turns in other bars.
  10. Sweet Baby - Donnie Elbert
  11. Brian You must also remember the one probably said the most "Best record for six months". Have you sorted out the Strip-O-Gram for Broughton?? Daryl
  12. I think that most who attended in March had a doubt about October. Really gutted. Any possibility of alternative venue, plenty of caravan/holiday sites in same area? Just hope that March 2012 still goes ahead, if not in usual format then something just as good. Respect and thanks to all those involved over the last ten years.
  13. LOL. I doubt it, be the first one of those to walk through the gate (and I don't mean East European!!!)
  14. Sue Try putting a post on "all about soul" I'm sure more people read that page than this one. It might get moved but worth a try. I wouldn't panic just yet though as a lot more usually become available nearer the date. If anyone else contact's me, with spare passes, then I'll pass your details on to them. Good luck Daryl
  15. No problem mate. See you there. Regards Daryl

  17. Looking for two Prestatyn wristbands. Accommodation not required. If anyone can help please PM or call/text 07753 823371 Thanks Daryl
  18. Spot on about Sam's spots. Awesome room. Dance floor was a little small but whole room had a wooden floor so no probs. Understand that for March there will be a new entrance. Room also had plenty of sound insulation so very little carried into main room or vice versa. The "restaurant" has also had a bit of a makeover, although by Pontin's standards it's probably classed as a major rebuild!!!
  19. Remeber this one Brian? Sam again. In the very early days of heart transplants he played Laura Lee's To Win Your Heart and dedicated it to Dr Christiaan Barnard. Hell that was a few years ago!!!
  20. Couple of wristbands wanted for Prestatyn October week-ender. Accommodation not required. If anyone can help out please PM or call/text 07753 823371. Thanks Daryl
  21. Julie Try B B King You'd Better Not Look Down on you tube. It is there but I don't know how to post the link!!! Regards Daz
  22. Some silly bugger has tried to analyse it. His name says it all!!! CulpritsMarvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell Title The Onion Song Year 1969 Written by Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson Submitted by Siegfried Baboon This song's lyrics constitute one of the most tortured and inappropriate analogies in the history of popular music. The idea is as follows. "The world is just a great big onion" (this is because it makes us cry, rather than the fact that it is made up of a number of geological strata a bit like the layers of an onion). No problems so far. But then we're told about "the only way to get rid of this great big onion". Ok, so we're getting rid of the world now. Fair enough. Curiously, the way to do this is "to plant love seeds until it dies". So we've killed off the world by sowing the seeds of love. To me that already sounds a bit of an uncomfortable situation to be in, but then Marvin Gaye shouts "Hey world! We've got a great big job to do. Yeah we need you." At this point the whole onion idea really looks quite tenuous.
  23. Another done.
  24. But it may be if you can understand the lyrics!!! Surprisingly written by Ashford & Simpson MARVIN GAYE lyrics - The Onion Song [both:] The world is just a great big onion [MG:] & pain & fear are the spices that make you cry [both:] Oh, & the only way to get rid of this great big onion [VS:] Is to plant love seeds until it dies, uh huh [MG:] Hey world! We got a great big job to do Yeah, we need you & everybody who loves truth Don't you know we've got to clean up this place & reach far high & oh yeah [VS:] Yes we do We gotta be headstrong about rightin' the wrong & make a mountain of happy souls, oh; [MG:] Oh [both:] The world is just a great big onion [MG:] & I don't care, it's the face people like to wear [VS:] Yes it is now [both:] & the only way to get rid of this great big onion [VS:] Every one single soul's got to do their share [MG:] Tell about it, baby! [MG:] So come on, let's knock on every door Tell them love is the answer Whether they're rich or poor, oh yeah For we don't care what you do How you look, or your status claim, baby [VS:] No no, because brothers & sisters From now on, is gonna be everyone's name, oh oh [both:] The world is just a great big onion [MG:] & pain & fear are the spices that make you cry [VS:] Yes it is [both:] & the only way to get rid of this great big onion [VS:] Is to plant love seeds [MG:] Now everybody, got to plant love seeds [VS:] Come on & plant love seeds [MG:] Until it dies [both:] The world is just a great big onion
