  1. Here you go, scroll down a bit and you will see a gig ad for St. Louis Union 'The Group On The Northern Soul Scene'....this must have been in the 1960's surely!!! https://www.manchesterbeat.com/groups/stlouisunion/stlouisunion.php
  2. There is, I've seen it and may have saved it in my docs somewhere. I'll look for it.
  3. 'Rare Soul' was the other name being banded about (well, in the 80's anyway). I like the term 'Northern Soul', you have to admit it's got a good ring to it! Even the Yanks are calling it that now!!
  4. Stan Vincent was also involved with this group's first 45 release back in the 60's (which was under their 'everyday name'). I don't believe they ever played live gigs as the Crow Just out of interest Roburt, what was their 60's / 'everyday' name?
  5. Anybody noticed that the last 4 seem to be readily available on ebay for as little as £15/25 each? There seems to be an abundance of them. Any before that are in the £100 range (or thereabouts). What's happened? Are they pressing extra copies exclusively for dealers or is that the quality has dipped?
  6. I've just added 103 to the Optimum catalogue on 45cat as it wasn't on there so that speaks for its elusive pedigree! https://www.45cat.com/record/nc709220us&rc=751286#751286 BTW: I collect the label and have 3 by the Royal Jesters.
  7. Just had listen to the flip of 103 and the flip is a nice dancer 'Down, Down, Down'.
  8. Nice, I never knew that one! I only know Optimum 102 .....which goes for a lot of $$$$$$$
  9. Talk about a surprise. Took a box of 'not needed' 45's to the local record shop in the hope that I'd get a £1 each for them. Owner of the shop wasn't interested in any of them. A few weeks later I popped back in there and was thumbing through some Psych LP's and came across a compilation called 'Rubble' or something like that featuring... and I quote 'Rarities From The UK'. You guessed, one of those 'not needed' 45's was on there! I posted it on ebay and got..... https://www.popsike.com/Abel-Fletcher-Girl-On-The-Shore-Rare-FreakbeatPsychOrganRubble-1970/201201578400.html Just goes to show, you really don't know what you've got lurking in your 'throw away' box!
  10. I'll be buying one that's for sure. As A Motown collector I need a USA one. I have 2 UK copies, the first 1970's release (TMG 1170) and the alternate version which is this one....
  11. As you said, red. This sits in my Motown box, original demo...
  12. I reckon they will try to push it Stateside, if it sells enough over there and they get a hit on their hands then it's all good and it will have been money well spent by Jack. I believe he owns (or at least has a hand in) the pressing plant where it is being pressed (Third Man Records).
  13. $75,000 has been mentioned but I don't know how true that is.
  14. Interested in 9 Jerry Ganey 20 Johnny Maestro 30 Teddy Randazzo Still available Roger?
  15. Here you go... https://thirdmanrecords.com/news/frank-wilsons-do-i-love-you-indeed-i-do-cass-corridor-record-store-day-festivities/
  16. Thanks for the heads up on this one Godz, just nabbed myself a copy!
  17. Doh! I just realised
  18. They are blue-eyed. The group on the pictured LP are from Schofield and on 'Starfire' records. These are the Georgia group mentioned earlier.
  19. 'Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers'? Sounds Detroit????
  20. Car boot find 25p. No great shakes but Northern and the other side is a good Mod type beat track...
