  1. Not 100% mate but if you look at all the images of the boots on this thread and look at the original copy you can see the differnce in the position. The original scan I posted is not my copy but I just pulled mine out of my box and it sits in the same position, dead center over the hole. Mine also has the prominent 'ring'.
  2. Kegsy, does the 'window' art on the label sit nice and perfect above the center of the hole on your copy?
  3. Another tell tale sign is that the 'window' box art on the label, on the boot it is slightly to the right of the center hole. On the original it sits perfectly in the middle.
  4. Original... The boot is a slightly darker shade of green and as Pete say's, patchy label
  5. You might have more luck over on the pama forum site.... https://s7.zetaboards.com/PAMA_FORUM/index/
  6. Check this out... https://www.60sgaragebands.com/detroitsoul.html
  7. I have the lookalike boot, hard to tell from the original and I actually got offered £50 for it a few years back!! Good sound quality too. It's such an in-demand track, always has been and always will be. Original has got to £100+
  8. Great album, well worth getting hold of!
  9. Charity shop today 10p...
  10. Lets not forget a bit of Northern Soul..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH-OcVC3_TY
  11. I like that. There is a Who connection somewhere, I remember something in the back of mind about Nicholas' father being a friend of Townsend or something like that. Talking of Townsend, picked up a UK Columbia 45 from the charity shop the other day by the Barron Knights 'Lazy Fat People / In The Night' 1967. Forget the A side, the B side is a nice Mod workout which is also something to do with Townsend.
  12. Does sound funny but I suppose £10 in 1980 was a bit of a wedge
  13. It's supposed to be a true story. They ain't the Sapphires who were on 'Swan' and HMV over here though are they?
  14. Here's the 3rd(?) UK press (2004?) with alternate take + Chris Clark on the flip....
  15. The RCA distributed one in my picture came in that orange sleeve, that sleeve has refrences on the back about Motown L.Ps available (1979) at that time and RCA distributed at the bottom of it.
  16. See above post. I bought that around 1980 at an all-dayer in Peterborough
  17. Mmm, my RCA distributed 45 has 1965 on the label....click to enlarge..
  18. The second press has fetched good money also, I've seen it go for £75. It's nice looking and has great sound quality, the difference is the '45' on the label is smaller on the second press.
  19. Played 'Al Greene & The Soul Mates - Don't Leave Me' the other day and noticed a similarity with the J.J.Barnes record. Both Detroit of course.
  20. Yes, I have that L.P Pete 'Modern Sounds Of The Orioles'
  21. What's a fair price? I see Manship has it at £75, Anglo American £40, seen it at £50. Guess £30 would be fair?
  22. If those Barons are the same outfit on RCA Victor then yes deffo white group. Edit: Ah, a Detroit band? They sound white anyway from the sound clip, garage soul.
  23. Huns Review is a terrific record, I found one years ago on a car boot for 10p and traded it with a guy who knew his onions, no one had ever heard it before then. I think he traded it with Tim at Anglo American and the price shot up to around £200. I know it's fairly in-demand but £560......wow!!!!! I really thought it would reach around £300 being on John Manship's and all. BTW, I managed to secure a minter for £50 off ebay after regretting letting mine go.
  24. Just found it. Mint. Labels are reversed as all are. PM'd you.
  25. I think I have one in a box somewhere, I'll take a look and get back to you ok.
