Been D.Jing at soul events in King's Lynn since year dot. D.J'd at a Motown night put together by an African guy I'd met recently, the night went down a storm. What do you know, he books another night and 'forgets' to ask me to D.J.....subsequently he'd got some bloke from Kent to come 200 miles and play Motown OFF A F*****G LAPTOP!
  6. He's come a long way, what with Harrods and all that....
  7. The US mail service have finished doing surface mail.
  8. Flicking through the TV mag, spotted Morris Chestnut as one of the stars in 'Ladder 49', a film on BBC1 tonight 10.35pm.....not sure if this has been mentioned on here before but is it our man? I've seen the film ages ago but can't remember seeing his name (or an ageing blackman) in the film??? Also, one of the 'Hairy Bikers' (on last night)...apparently a fan of Northern Soul.
  9. you got a PM..
  10. Just the one I think Ken, wearing a green dress on the cover. L.p is called 'For The First Time'.
  11. As well as Bread, it also came out on brown Trojan TR 7870
  12. Oh? The good track on the USA is 'Where Am I Going' ...a Mickey Stevenson Motowny mid-tempo affair. Can anyone (Ken?) give me a track listing of the UK release?
  13. Thanks for that Chalky, at first I thought it was perhaps the UK release, I know sometimes they put different tracks than the USA copies to appeal to the UK buyers. Motown did this a few times. Marvin Gaye 'How Sweet It Is' L.P is one that springs to mind and I got caught out buying the USA Kim Weston L.P on MGM....mostly m.o.r/ Jazzy/ easy listening (just one decent soul track in fact) but the UK release was more of her Northern stuff.
  14. Reckon it must be a (fairly recent?) CD then Ady,obviously containing his Uni & Spring tracks collected together?
  15. There seemto be 2 different track listings of Garland Green's 'JealousKind Of Fella' album on UNI as it appears in these two pics My copy is the second one. Can anyone shed any light on this?
  16. Which T.J Williams track was it? 'My Life' or 'Baby I Need You' ????
