Goo gone is made to remove adhesives. It looks like it stains the label but it evaporates after a few hours. It is more effective but sometimes harder to use than lighter fluid, which gums up rather than evaporating. Goo gone is also more noxious imo. When you remove a sticker there generally will be a sticker removal area that is darker. It doesn't relate to the solvent used. It relates to the fact that the whole rest of the label was exposed to wear / fading, etc. while the one area was protected by the sticker. Under the sticker is the more true original color of the label. There's no way to prevent this from happening by using a different solvent. Either way, a sticker removal stain looks way better than the sticker imo (assuming you didn't tear the label or anything like that) and if anything should increase the value, not decrease it.

don't get acetone on the actual vinyl or styrene though. so also don't use it to remove a sticker on the record itself.

Your original post was vague and when you asked for alternatives (which you did), someone gave you one, then you rudely responded saying they didn't meet your specific requirements (which were never stated in your original post)... and some of them did (e.g. were modular). I have a copy of the Vals on Ascot to sell if someone needs it. I only listened to about a third of the podcast so far, not going to post an opinion until I listen to the whole thing. I just am posting to say that the Nobles on Columbia are a later version of the Joneses on Mercury, it's the 3 Noble brothers plus one other member. The lead singer that Ian comments on is Reggie Noble (which is funny if you know anything about rap music ... it's not redman). It's a different lead than the Joneses because Glen Dorsey sang lead on the Joneses records.

There was always more stock of this around than the sophisticates, or at least stock available for a lot longer. I would agree with maybe 30 or 40 pounds. i think this probably will go up eventually.

No, I only based my comment on the fact that it really looks like the inter/soul label. Whenever I see a new york publisher I almost always assume it's a publishing company unrelated to the label. But I haven't seen this publisher before so it might be some tiny publisher owned by the label owner. The building at that address clearly isn't the building that was there when the record came out so it's hard to tell.

this specific copy was already discussed in that previous thread, and the seller described it. thanks though. i can't afford it anyways.

my copy is not cracked fwiw, i wouldn't pay more than a few dollars for a cracked record unless I just wanted to hear it. however, on ebay i see cracked records selling for a pretty large percentage of the non-cracked value.

i saw the new york publisher before posting but being in new york, i assumed that it was just a larger publisher and not connected to the label. also, it doesn't look like anything I know pressed on the east coast. apparently it's an apartment building now (with slumlord type reviews for the management company) but it must have not been that before since there's no number in the publishing address.
