Played Out Oldies
Good post this, makes great reading, some good points too. All I'll say is lots of played out oldies out there (mainstream ones that is, dont need to mention their titles as most have already been mentioned on here already), but a lot of underplayed oldies too (wasnt there a thread on this before?), top of my head heres some I'd like to hear out now and again at some of the smaller venues I attend these days ... I Love My Baby - International GTO's The Stran/Outta Sight Loving - Little Stanley Bands of Gold - Its Over The Little Things - Misty Moore Oh How I Love You - Little Johnny Hamilton Chaumonts - Now Youve Gone Shandels - I Got To Love Her Wall of Sound - Hang On Anything by Preston Peters!! Marty Lewis - Cant Do Without You .....and so on Hats off to anyone who plays any of these

Think I know what you are getting at here, abit like should one put a 'beep' or something on the track during the recording to stop it being pressed onto vinyl (if an exclusive or hard to find sound maybe), bit like what they do on the radio (although some on the radio I have heard doing that get a bit carried away with that....). Think its great for the punters and quality should be one that is of a fine audible quality, and in most cases they are used for easy listening of tunes you might only here at niters, soul nites etc. Usually these are done in ltd numbers, e.g. for the first 50 -100 through the doors, this also aids in getting people thru the doors early on (which is a good thing for the dj given the 1st spot), although these cds are usually copied on for peoplwe who didnt get one or didnt go to the event, I have had them done for me and have always appreciated them, likewise I have done copies for others of cds I have had as freebies at soul nites...share & share alike) .....or have I got the wrong end of the stick- You Price The Records Competition

Anyone know if 'Wild Is The Night' was released as a 45 or is it an LP track. Belive he is some jazz singer that goers back along way, but this track has a touch of Cajun Hart about it IMO. Grant- Four Pros
