he aint here at the moment, he will no doubt get back to you, we do have some other old sales lists in the loft, from allsorts of places and people, will have to get them out and have a good laugh at what we all passed by at the time, in favour of current tunes we all wanted then, it does go to show that there is a mass of unknown 45,s and really great underplayed stuff that is yet to have its day me thinks, but it takes balls to play it out, when somebody somewhere will say , never heard that, can we hear something we know!!! same old, same old, its a never ending drama aint it, and of course woody being woody the hoarder there is loads of blues and soul mags( rimmer please duck now )black music mags and even records, one day , he has to sort it out

having read it from cover to cover, every single page ,and I never got a look in, the ones he wanted have gone , a snail is faster than woody

can you put a sound bite up, so we can hear it, I have not heard that version, cant think of a tune recently thats had that effect on me, the most recent, was for me, when john Weston played the Ventura's, heart of love, quite some time ago , its a dancer, and blew me away, I think its a most brilliant track, but not to everybody's taste though! and my husband does not share my enthusiasm for this particular tune

are we dying breed, literally, inyears to come , when we just dont do it any, more,forwhat ever reason, how will the scene be, I have noticed, some people i know, who used to travel every where, right accross the country, sundenly change track, and say, theres more to life than soul, had enough ect, so are the people who have been soulin if you like for a very long number of years, the ones who are really, keeping it going at the momment, so what happens, we we all decide thats it, what will be left?

well , thats more or less what I think, that sometimes , some venues are more like disco,s, we try to choose venues that cater for the music we prefer, but that initself, can stop us trying something somewhere else!

thats a good point. there are younger ones coming in, who are really into the northern stuff, but defo not enough of them and we are all getting older!

There have been many discussions on SS, about overkill, boots vs ovo, oldies - rare - modern, so where do you think our scene will be in lets say 5 to ten years time, is it going to explode or implode , will the commercialism finally take over, so that its full of none soulies, will it die out, will there be 20 venues running in every single town, or will it come to a complete standstill, what do you think?

just a small point, been to a few as we all say up front , music, something a little different, and I have asked some people there, did you enjoy your self, reply being, well it was OK, but we did not know the music!!!!!!! and I can see they ain't gonna come back, why cant some punters just give a great venue, more than one visit, instead of then going back to the sane old, it baffles me! they seem afraid to give the rarer or underplayed stuff a go?

The way I see it, years ago this scene was underground, if you said you where into ns, nobody really new what you meant, now its very commercial, so that opens many doors for people of all ages and backgrounds, music tastes etc, to go to venues, mostly oldies venues, and there are too many of them, thats where I see the overkill, so some promoters will play safe to make ends meet,and stick to oldies, we all bang on about wanting underplayed stuff , rare ect, so why arnt we supporting these venues, because I think we are in the minority, harsh I know, I think, IMHO, that 60% like oldies and the other40% like other stuff, and thats why they are not filling the venue up!I find it difficult to get to the places i want to get to, sometimes to far, sometimes, just to tired ect, and tend to stick to the ones that I know we will enjoy, music wise, a few years ago, we ran a venue for rarer stuff and underplayed, and could not get the punters in, yes, its the same old story, so where do we go from here!
