Theres over 60 known tracks on the label, so perhaps the discography on this link needs a little work. (If you can't get the link, there's only two tracks listed! )
  4. JM's 4th edition has it at £10. R & B Indies does not show another track from the label, nor any details of where the label is from.

    It's on Big Hit 104.
  6. Mine arrived yesterday. First play this morning and anything that includes the Artistics wonderful "This heart of mine" has got to be a winner. Cheers Ray, I'll repay the favour in the New Year. Mike
  7. The one on ebay looks identical to the scan in JM's "Million Dollars of Rare Soul"

Fabulettes - £40 Dee Dee Sharp - 104 Euros Both through ebay in this year.
  9. Interesting. First post and nobody bothers to reply, unless you've got lots of PMs. Now there may be a reason for that, but in the interest of fairness I will reply. First option definitely. I cannot see many people opting for grub at a soul do. Get 'em dancing early and keep 'em dancing! Good luck with the venture.
  10. Oh, OK then
  11. Fascinating stuff, Mikey. Are the people, the label and the shop known to the SS folk?
  12. One on ebay in October this year for $535.

Per JM's 4th edition but checked with popsike and one in August this year for $228 so £15 a little off the mark!
  14. Wasn't there a story around in the early 70's that somebody swapped a car for "Landslide"? Might not have made it a £100 record, but interesting all the same, eh.

One went for $210 in April of this year via ebay.
  20. Nothing like a good Kev Roberts or Ian Levine thread to get the old juices flowing, is there? For what it's worth, my opinion is the same as Kev Robert's book - it's just an opinion. He says they are the top 500 (or is it top 1,000 by now), but so what. I am not an apologist for KR but I have thoroughly enjoyed the second book, which I thumb through on a regular basis - it's in my bog - but I don't sit there and think "Well he's wrong about that" or "That's not right, surely the version by XYZ is better", because it does not merit that kind of review. It's a list book, written by somebody who is entitled to do so, and for those who don't like the man ( and I can understand where they're coming from) and don't want to contribute to his retirement fund, then give it a wide berth. Me, it's on my Santa wish list, together with plenty of Kent CD's and a Cristiano Ronaldo matching duvet and pillow case set.
