You should still be able to pick up We are Family LP cheap enough as there are a lot about in boot sales and the like, gr8 album. If you manage to pick up the album "Circle of love" on Atlantic, the title track is worth a listen. Only bought this album for LDYGTNCOM, and found that Circle of Love is better. H.
  2. Richard Domars lists came with a filing cabinet, lol Haydn

Does this mean that Soul Source members can get a good discount on them Davie. Haydn
  4. You don't need the banter but a little on who you are dancing to is necessary when you are looking for choons. H

Yeah tried them treski and they do the job well, had a mate come in one night though, and he thought it was for snortin' , cheeky git. Haydn.
  6. All the best Mark, You opened my ears up when i got a tape off you in Shotts about '89. Still fresh to this day and still top notch tunes. Haydn
  7. I estimate that about 40 folk shook hands with you that night Lenny so there will be a few folk about that aren't aware of how close they were to your plums. Do I have to guess at what you were touching before you sold me that Timi Yuro, you said they were water stains, lol. Haydn.
  8. True, Have been waiting on this happening over the past year, don't know why some of them have to be on the same night as an established night. It's a bit sh#tty. It may look like more choice but when everybody and their auntie is throwing on anything, it blurs the vision. This was due to happen sooner or later, the choons are easily available to one and all in the throwaway format (cd), seemingly the nightclub in the town has picked up on some modern choons and frequently play them in their set. I could understand playing a 12" but these guys are d/loading from share programs and play them from a cd made in the bedroom, thats not DJing. No effort in finding the choons just wait on the computer to pour the sound out and you're the next Fatboy, bloclocks!!! H.
  9. Samplat is Simon Soussan,lol
  10. Aye lol, ditto Chalky, Got to go "Inside out" is on. Haydn
  11. Chalky, Doesn't bother me either way about who is what or where is him, just like getting on with the discussion bud. I don't think that there should be any debates about anything other than the sanity of the scene and all who sail in her. I have a great admiration for a lot of people and if i came across someone on this site that I didn't like, then I wouldn't submit to any of their topics, just like you wouldn't have a pint with them either. I don't hide my name and don't care if I am speaking to Tufty McRabbit, as long as the topic is genuine enough. Haydn

The Lewis Sisters- Tell Me The Rumours Are Wrong. I'm sure i've heard this somewhere but for the life of me I can't remember. Haydn
  13. Hi all, Yes Kev is soultripusa , have been a customer. Can't say he is Ashley bloke, never heard of him. The Bay of E is an advertisers dream, if a salesmen bums a choon up and somebody is daft enough to believe them, then tough. You really have to know what you are looking for and a little research will go a long way to help you find your elusive choon. I have spoken to run of the mill record dealers and this is there way of clearing old stock,"just stick northern title on to it" this way there is young blood who don't have the knowledge that buy a country and western choon on a known label. It is only good getting a bargain IF you know it's a bargain, not the place really to buy blind as it can be costly. It's a shame really because it degrades the scene and someone that doesn't know the Northern may d/load a sound and unbeknown to them, it probably hasn't seen any dancefloors never mind a Northern room. Research is the answer, Haydn
  14. Right on Ben, It is automatically tuned in, bet you didn't expect a result as fast as this Mace!!! H
  15. Peeps outside the Midlands are bound to know a "friend" that is able to code your SKY reciever to recieve BBC Midlands, ask around as I may not be allowed to post it up on here. Haydn.
  16. The feeling of being THAT close to wonderful sounds that never leave your memory. As other things pass and fade into a distant memory, a few bars of an obselete choon can send those shivers up your spine and give you relaxation and excitement together in possibly only a glorious 2 minutes. When all else has failed be it financial, relationship, employment, government, the list goes on. The elusive sound of soul travels with you and never disappears. To me, just to have that thing to hold on to, close to your heart, is what makes the whole northern/rare soul scene a part of my topsy turvy life. Through my "tear-stained face" and my "strange neighbourhood", "I'm so happy" and "it's all because of you" - ode to soul. Haydn
  17. All the best, Mike Haydn
  18. Henry Lumpkin Fish-Monkey man
  19. Can't Johnny, 'fraid the pick isn't mine , found it surfin' the net one night and I can't see the writing myself, Pity, cos I am interested in the playlist at that do. Haydn
  20. Imaginations - Strange neighbourhood, class had this in my head all the time when the ex and i split. Turned out that it my LIFE didn't understand me. Haydn.
  21. Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all,Mark It seems nowadays sometimes that the prices are dictating the dancefloor and not necessarily the choon, all the more reason for DJ's to open up the dusty box. H.
