It'S Just A Night Out, Is It?
Well she wasn't wrong Rich, I find it hilarious & slightly pathetic to see these fat 50+ (i'm one) blokes waddling about the dance floor in their bags & beer towels fancy dress outfit ( I'm not one of these tho') Just what do they think they look like ? Fortunately it only seems to be in vogue where the music seems to be trapped in the same time capsule as their dress sense!

The Four Vandals
Thoughts ? My first thought is that it's absolute shit, my second thought is that my first thought wasn't actually thought out....... The 2 4 vandals singles are harmless enough (leaving aside the politics, rip offs & headbutts) they just have no place on the soul scene IMO. I would put them in a similar vein to Rick Astely to be honest

Billy Sol
He must have a mind block on this record, I played it 2/3 years ago at Southgate alldayer & although obviously he knew it he couldn't remember title or artist. Still gets occasional play early on at Solid Hit Age alcohol etc takes its toll. Yann played Daddy O at v v Voom the other week & for the life of me I couldn't remember who sung it & then denied it was T. Lindsay when Dave Swift tried to put me out of my agony Still I've only had it since the mid 70s! Sorry totally off topic

R.searlings Last Wigan Spot Part 3
Last "normal" saturday i went to must have been early '81 maybe late'80 (pretty sure I heard Alfie Davison if thats any guide,) & main room was practically deserted, very small groups here & there & a handful of people at best on the dance floor which was a bit of a bummer seeing as I'd travelled up from London on National coaches on my own Not one of my best decisions !!!! Sure they opened M's & I think most people disappeared up there, possibly what Barry remembers ? After that I never went on a saturday night until the last one..................& then the next last one. I stopped going to last ones after that but are those what you are refering to Barry with "but it came back with a vengeance". I just can't imagine a saturday night picking up after being so empty ?
