  1. why should we be grateful for duffys music bringing a few new faces onto the soul scene. if they have to wait for duffy to spoon feed them music they are the wrong type of people anyway with no ability to find soul for themsleves. they will be onto somnething else in 6 months time. who is duffy anyway never heard of her ? is she fit ?

See so many times people throwing daft valuations around on records they have neither baught or sold for those prices ? not sure what it achieves.

They usually appear out of the woodwork when something very rare comes up for sale. In my experience they tend to go more for deep and southern. And tend to have very good taste in soul music. Didn't whole warehouses of 45s used to get shipped over to japan by collectors in the early days ? Hitoshi must have one of the best collections out there. His blog is stunning.
  4. A few 45s available. All prices in UK sterling Edward Hamilton "Just let me know / i'm gonna love you" Mary Jane Ex 60 Cookie Jackson "Find me a lover / love brings pain" Uptown ex (find side) vg+ (love side) both sides play great but love has a ring mark towards outer grooves. 40 Caprells "What you need baby" Bano M- 20 Bill Brandon & Lorraine Johnson "Let me be your full time groover" Moonsong EX 50 Tim Murray "Thinking of you" Detroit tracks Ex 50 stunning 45 here should be massive. Sebastian Williams "get your point over" Ovide M- 20 ON HOLD / NOW SOLD. Buddy Ace "True love money can't buy" Duke Ex 40 oh and one more I nearly forgot.... Innersouls "Just take your time / toughts" Plemmons OFFERS. SOLD !! Serious rariry here and one hell of a double sider. If this sells I doubt very much i'll ever get it back so its not going cheap. Its not pretty to look at so would get a low visual grade prehaps as low as vg- but the play grade would be much higher. the uptempo hard funk soul side plays fantastic and the ballad side plays well after the crackly intro. thanks, dylan

is this another version of the famous flames song on same label ?
  6. I must have missed that. What was the C/U name ?
  7. I've known what this is for probably about 5 or 6 years now and thats how long it took me to get a copy hence i've said nowt until now. the vg- grade might have put a few off but it plays lovely. and heres a cheapie thats just great C.B Overton "Superstar lady" Shock certainly not an unknown but still worthy or much wider recognition.
  8. Here's one offering from me. Mr Percolator "I can't get enough" Wax Wel Hard driving soul music. Just how Northern should be

even nicer on sherri shep you get a killer deep soul flip.
  12. It seems that 1018 was used 3 times by Willie Hobbs. cry cry cry / under the pines being the one that shows up all the time. here are the 3 Starving for love / Under the pines ~ SOFT 1018 (1968) Under the pines / Cry, cry, cry ~ SOFT 1018 (1968) a woman is a nice thing to have around / Under the pines ~ SOFT 1018 (1968) i've tried and failed to find the last of these 3.
  13. Great mix. And t think i've traded a few PMs with souljazzera but never knew this was the person in question.
  14. massive inspirastion to me these shows. George Campbell "get it on" one of my best buys of 2007. And from such a young guy it shows there is some hope afterall.

I never thought this was rare either. I found one easily enough for about $20 but then again i've not exactly been looking out for others. classic soul. I don't remember the styrene hiss being to intrusive throughout only light and patchy.
  16. Joe Woods "I found a love" Hit Pack about 5 mins ago.... had the Valentine Adams version for a long time now but I think this is better (and that is saying something as VA is awesome) Probably a few versions of this knocking around seems to be one of those "standards" can't wait to give this its first spin.

Joe Beck $20-30 ? might have a spare if you need it but I think its only vg+
  18. 2 for sale paypal preferred. Bobby Long & Dealers "Gotta have love" Old Town vg++ 50UK SOLD Willie Johnson "What i'm gonna do / its me" Savannah Int M-60UK cheers, dylan
  19. Got my midtown on ebay last year about 40 quid terific soul 45. Not too much interest in that auction copy realy I was very suprised. But it did take me about 2 years to get this 45. Sean is right these things are knocking about and you just have to be patient but as soon as the price goes up suddenly a flury of activity and everybody starts wanting it. The tragar one seems a rarer 45 ? I've seen one scratchy copy that I passed on. The tuska one goes for quite a lot of money but is certainly not his best.

come on spanner keep up. We all baught this record ages ago
  21. the only rare gene chandler i'm aware of is "pretty little girl" have only seen a couple of copies personally. Now wish I picked one of them up but didn't think it was a tough 45 at the time.
