  1. elijah and ebonies is mind blowing stuff if you see her again you could get a card sleeve signed for me tons on there I don't know so looking forward to listening.
  2. george is playing a lot of deep funk to the northern crowd. It was bound to happen one day as the deep funk scene is basically ended so good luck to him. I am hearing records I like that I didn';t previosuly know which is what its all about. he either joined the northern rare soul scene or listenend to his funk with 3 other people round his house. but all this funky norethern just lately is getting a bit out of hand saeems every man and his dog is jumping on it. i'm still a big fan of mid tempo and it deserves it time on the turntables. I don't agree with the arguement that music has to be uptempo all night to keep the place jumping. A set of brilliant mid tempo keeps me dancing just as much as the good uptempo. another guy I love to hear DJ is sean hampsey. I'm sure a few tunes now are starting to get the tag of "just soul" tunes.
  3. some great soul here.
  4. butch is out on his own as number 1 by a long way.
  5. dELORISE bERRY in stock with craig moerer for $100 not sure if thats a fair reflection on current value ?

assmebly rooms in derby are pretty big I saw orbital live there play a great set. It would need 300 to look busy.
  9. i'm sure you have plenty of soul pack records that soon take that feeling away.

100 club and radcliffe were geographically miles apart but can't help but think numbers at both were probably effected which is a real shame. and being jan that probably didn't help. and again this weekend 3 big events all on sat. now more importantly am I going to endure a dross england performance or surf the net................ choices, choices
  11. didn't think they were represses either TBH ? still a great record and compared to some other 20 quid records worth picking up at that price. i'm sure he was signing the covers of all the copies he had up on ebay.
  12. not realy a record for at home though is it ? sounds good in a venue. can think of 2 or 3 other 45s on the label i'd rather spend my money on.

thats the one I was thiunking of. I always remember vangaurds and sensations being big sounds at the same time. Probably a good while after rod had the cheap copies of the vanguards though.

didn't rod dearlove had "demanding man" as a cheao front page focus tune some years ago as well ? I might be mistaken about this
  15. are you looking for the other one by any chance....
  16. does he know the grading good in record terms is not actually very good quote "A STRICTLY GRADED GOOD++++ CONDITION-PLAYS A VERY STRONG "VG"!

another mint copy on ebay now.
  18. its got a very good deep soul side also. If my memory serves me right
  19. i've seen quite a few of these go though ebay recently so probably a small find and hence why price seems lower now than previously.
  20. somebody got mine just at the right time then. I had it a long time and price remained steady. I did always suspect it might go up one day looks like my suspicion was right. its the speed that it happens that sometime scatches me out. And where the demand suddenly comes from ? is somebody now DJ'ing this record on a regular basis I never heard it in a club.

lets hope a night like this does get going. paul has the idea about crack ojn coulnd't be drop dead slow deep all night would need a few variants in the style to keep it fresh. some polished 70s ballads and a few mid tempo bits thrown in.
  22. I sold a copy on here in 2010 for something like 40 to 60GBP. its one of those that could go up in price one day but I don't think it has yet. I saw a very expensive copy recently but thought it was way off the mark. you will get one if you are patient.
  23. and the other 2 tracks that didn't get releaszed until the 80s on soul king are also very good I would agree on valuation of between 50 and 60GBP for this 45.
  24. yes agree here the lyrics do have a secular meaning but its not to obvious or in your face. we have to draw the line somewhere or we might as well pack up gouing to soul nights and start attending church.
