Heard this played at Kent Soul Club, by Ginger Lou, Saturday night. First time I'd heard it played out, having just acquired a UK issue on the strength of hearing it on Graham Slater's weekly radio show. I thought, perhaps, a little too "disco" for a soul night but sounded great anyway and the floor seemed to like it. JM's got one on his site for sale and in the info he sez "taking off! Classic club tune making a comeback on the Northern Soul scene". So, is it really taking off/getting hammered elsewhere? Was it spun back in the day?

Great record IMHO. Jo, if you still haven't got a sound clip PM me on here, or e mail me, and I'll see if I've got an mp3.- Record Shops In Hawai'i
I'm going there for 10 days in September. Was hoping to check out any local record shops but if JM's already been there will no doubt be nothing left- Pandoras On Oliver
Just arrived, copy of The Pandoras - "Call Me / Sweetheart, Sweetheart" - Oliver 2003 Bought it having heard "Call Me" spun from someone's sales box, when in Rimini. Nice catchy tune, if a little on the "poppy" side! Anyone provide any more info on this one, i.e.:- Who were the Pandoras? Is it "blue-eyed"? Ever been played out on the scene, or perhaps considered too poppy? Don't know how many records were issued on Oliver but Oliver 2002 is, of course, the mighty Steinways - "You've Been Leading Me On / My Heart's Not In It Anymore", IMHO one of the best double siders on the scene!- Whats Your Most Sick Of Hearing Or Hated! Overplayed Oldie
Doug Banks - I Just Kept On Dancing Dottie & Millie - Talkin About My Baby (don't know why the other side's not played more!)- Kenny Hamber
What was the original label release for this? There's two different ones on JM's:- Million Dollar 626 PES 102 What's the going rate for the original? Thanks- Maxine Or Tammi?

Motown 1034 Never seen this on a list. Is it a tuff one? JM's sez £30. Who sang lead on this one?- Paul Weller's Tribute To Northern
That's a bit unfair aint it? What about the stuff he did early eighties with The Style Council. Uptempo, happy, soulful tunes !- Continental Coffee Bar, Bradford
Derek, I frequented the Continental Coffee Bar 69 & 70. This was where I first got into the music, before it was known as NS. Was originally a mod/scooter hang out later becoming frequented by Skinheads. Many times trouble outside with the local greasers who used to hang out at the Gondola coffee bar just down the road! Friday & Saturday nights used to be rammed. Buy one coke stay there all afternoon/evening Jukebox down there was wonderful. Packed with Motown etc. Hole In The Wall was a disco through the back. All the latest sounds from The Wheel being brought back and spun in there. Oh happy days- Who's Your Best Mate On The Uk Soul Scene?
Thanks for that Jo - Love you too Do miss the great nights we had at TOS. Sometimes used to go back over Tower Bridge and I swear I was floating on air from the top sounds I'd heard- Mp3 Request - Platters
"With This Ring" Needed - anyone put this up, or PM me off list? Cheers- Cleaning Vinyl
Agree with Pete - Fairy Liquid - works a treat Wet the vinyl, use one of those little washing up spongey things, wet with warm water to work FL well into the vinyl. Then rinse under cold tap, carefully avoiding label. Leave to dry. Someone did tell me once he had cleaned up scratched records with T Cut , not something I'd try though!- Stubbsy's Photos
