  1. Come on Ady - spill the beans
  2. Seen this posted elsewhere on SS "Cleethorpes weekender is on 8th june - 11th june 2018...deposit paid..looking forward to it . best weekender imo... " I haven't heard anything else and nothing on 6t's website! Anyone else have any concrete info?
  3. Don't be silly Dave! 7" is still quality
  4. Chris, Plenty for sale on Discogs https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?master_id=110247&ev=mb Depends whether you want the 12" or the 7". Cheapest 7" is £35.70. Sure Ady Pountain on here had one cheaper than that in his sales box at Monumental Clacton a few months ago if you want to try him. Great record BTW!
  5. Too true Mal - that's what my copy went for round about that time!
  6. F'ing Hell! £1,200+ for Gene Woodbury. Says in the description "value has rocketed 5 fold in recent times, with no sign of it slowing down" That must be true then based on what I sold my M- copy for not all that long ago
  7. Should be £50 tops all day long!
  8. Jobel and His Orchestra De Salsa - Never Gonna Let You Go. Thought there were US first and second issues of this - the first issue being rarer & more expensive?
  9. Stubbsy posted a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
DJ + 1 guest free all day long! If any promoters are not paying the DJ and are expecting them to pay admittance they are really taking the piss! !
  10. Nice one Sooty & good to hear you're still around & back on SS!
  11. On US Fantasy F-802 7" issue, or promo, if anyone's got one for sale - VG+ or better at a realistic price!
  12. He won't thank me for saying this but our mate Geoff Green is into his 70's and he's a regular at the 100 Club and out just about every weekend!
  13. Some absolute crackers on that playlist. Nice one Fred
  14. And this one
  15. Here's a few soul/disco popular 70's floor fillers to be going on with : "Back Together Again" - Roberta Flack Feat. Donny Hathaway (!979) "Love Don't You Go Through No Changes On Me" - Sister Sledge (1974) "I'll Be Around" - Spinners (1972) "Hold Back The Night" - Trammps (1975) "Don't Leave Me This Way" - Thelma Houston (1976) "Feel The Need In Me" - Detroit Emeralds (1972) "Young Hearts Run Free" - Candi Staton (1976)
  16. Thanks for posting that Andy - very interesting read Mello Souls "We Can Make It" up there with the best!
  17. In my book Ashford & Simpson up there with the very best singers and songwriters of all time!
  18. Gene Woodbury all day long for me
  19. I put last 12 months as it was 100 Club last August, unless I can count Cleethorpes Weekender (but I didn't manage to stay out till the end either Friday, or Saturday)
  20. £387 for Alfie Davison Bloody hell, what's the normal going rate these days?
  21. I've certainly done my fair share of impulse buying, Usually on a Saturday night if I've stayed in drinking beer/red wine and listening to radio, You Tube etc! Sat in the modern room at Cleethorpes weekender heard Archie Bell "Strategy" on PIR (Ivor Jones spin) and Dynamic Superiors "One Nighter" on Motown (can't remember who). May well have heard em before but certainly made an impact! Within 5 minutes of hearing each I'd researched/sourced them on Discogs and bought them. It's just too easy nowadays to do this, especially with the less rare, cheaper end of the market
  22. I'll third that! I'd like to see what they are spinning in the states. After all, that's where the majority of the sounds originated from
  23. Thought Willie Tee would have gone for more than that - great record! £1,162 for Celeste Hardie is ridiculous - again, a great record but seem to recall 4-5 years ago going rate was £300 - £350?
