The King Tutt will be one of the first batch that John Anderson imported as it has his "trademark scrubbing out of the address using his compass". Also some of the labels were off centre but it simply endorses its authenticity Steve
  2. Will do, hopefully get on the case on Saturday Steve
  3. Hi Patto, I have a couple of copies of this. They are both original but from memory one of the labels is slightly darker green than the other. As for how they sound, again from memory Id say they were both poorly recorded prior to reaching the pressing plant and much of the distortion is inherent as both copies are pretty much unplayed. Having just moved house things are all over the place but I'd hope to lay my hands on them this weekend. I'll dig them out, give them a listen and let you know as to be honest it was never my favourite record. Steve

  5. For sale: Brown Clark’s Polyveldt Oberon size 7. Worn once. Probably the most comfortable shoes for all-nighter goers in the late seventies / early eighties. £20 plus £5 UK post. Payment by F&F PayPal please.
  6. I honestly wish Tim would let this jealousy go with John Manship. He really makes himself look stupid in my opinion. All the digs on his lists etc..... unnecessary.
  7. Absolutely stunning copy of Richard Searling’s old Wigan spin as documented in his book “Setting the record straight”. Without doubt the rarest release on the label which has never surfaced in quantity. Vinyl mint, labels mint. What more is there to say on this stunning 45. £550 all in (inc secure postage)to UK address. Overseas please enquire ref postage. Money back guarantee. Paypal as friends and family, cash, cheque, transfer. Please PM for more information
  8. Hi Steve, The only message I received from you suggested that you had issues with your account and that you would "pass on this occasion". It's not a problem hence me re-listing the record. Regards Steve
  9. Re-listed due to non paying buyer: Dells “Your Song” UK 20th Century above Ex+ but conservative graded. Nice copy of this gem of a “modern” classic getting harder to find. Possibly the best way to own it as the US copies are styrene. £60 plus UK postage (overseas please PM), PayPal F&F only (last transaction suggested bank transfer and has left a bad taste if I’m honest as there has been activity issues on the account).

  11. For sale: The Dells “Your Song” 20th Century UK in Ex+ condition. The best way to own this gem of a record as the USA version is on styrene and often suffers wear. £65 including secure UK postage. Overseas please PM. Payment by PayPal F&F preferred. Please message if alternative payment is required.
  12. Many years ago, back in the days of "video", I borrowed three different tapes from the BBC archives. There was a very strict policy and along with a small payment, you had to fill in a load of paperwork and guarantee the tapes return within the specified contract term. I still have copies of both paperwork and video's (which I wasn't supposed to copy... of course) but heaven knows where they are. I no longer have a working VCR so even if I found them I'd be stuffed. If however I do find them and someone can transfer them feel free to let me know. I've also got things "Chasing Rainbows" and many, many TV documentaries both from the TV companies and which I recorded from TV at the time. Steve
  13. If it's the same article it ran under the heading of "The John Travolta Of Wigan Casino" as it was published close to the release and success of Saturday Night Fever. Sandy Holt featured in it quite heavily from memory. Could someone raid the Mirror's archives as I'd love to see it again and yes, it was a double page spread Steve
  14. Unless you bought the cracked / broken / smashed one that was framed.... then again the frame was worth a tenner so I'll stop there

Yep.... takes you back a bit but it was a time for that sort of stuff and that time would have been Cleethorpes. It was played, it was danced to and for those two facts, it has become a Northern Soul record. Yep Joe 90 did it at Wigan, the kid shirt lifter band did it at Cleethorpes... not literally of course. That said Jimmy wasn't too many miles down the road!!!
  16. I have to take issue with the signs on the stage. Surely they should be a little more specific... "No drinks, No talc and No dickheads on the dance floor". Just an observation of course for future health and safety reasons when the circus is in town.
  17. Another of the greats has gone. Thank you for your music. Rest in peace Lorraine Chandler

    Maybe...… ask me more
  20. Its not the most inspiring of books, but neither was "Motown by matrix" which Mr Appleyard took from me. I have both the cassette book and the cd book but alas have never looked at them. They are purely part of the book collection which is now bigger than the 45 collection lol. Anyway, save me that book and I'll get the dosh over to you. If I give you Dave's address maybe you could send direct to him Cheers Steve
  21. Hey Simon, Does the "Standing....." have the discs with it? If so Dave a may be interested Steve
  22. …. and did I say any different?
  23. As nice as they look they are not 45 record cases. They are in fact vanity cases which will serve the purpose.
  24. Always understood the "bomb hoax" at the Wirrina to be down to a certain KW.... DJ'd at the Fleet a few times in the Modern room but most people have forgotten about that.
