Awesome!! YouTube is certainly uncovering some gems

Nate Evans....on 'the One And Only' ?
He's been touring with the Temptations for a while now, he was in the line up the toured the UK in the late 80's with David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks. I remember the introductions of each of the group members, and clapping loudest and longest when Nate Evans was introduced. Top night!!

Isley Brothers - Who's That Lady - United Artists
Isley Brothers - Whos' That Lady - United Artists As requested.... here's the original version from 1964. I've played this out at Lifeline to a decent floor reception, it's such a great record, and hard to believe it's that early. This should be getting a lot more DJ attention, it certainly will at the Creative Soul nights. Not that easy to find either, just 3 copies on eBay during the last 12 months.

Bashie/dakar

Does your mum know you're still up ? Are you old enough to be on here? It sounds to me like you're describing your school disco. You should leave this to the grown ups.

Lee Williams & The Cymbals Lost Love
Yep, the line up changed around some, but the main men Lee Williams. Al Miller and S. Brown were in the De-lite line up as they were with Rapda, Black Circle & Carnival. The stunning Please, Baby, Please is the "A" side of I'll Always Love You -1972 (same year as GFACT) - tune!!
-
T D Valentine
Nope Poets line up was Ronnie Lewis, Melvin Bradford & Paul Fulton. He could have been in the Four Vandals though, both played at the same time, by the same DJ

3 Nce Xover Modern Tunes Up For Grabs 2 Sold
Pitch it at -2, and it sounds perfect! See ya at Lifeline. BTW as already commented on, the flip is a killer deep/sweet soul tune - did you get a chance to pay it before you moved it on?
-
Cheryl Berdell
Top tune Sean, I used to play this out myself, though she's a a very overlooked lady. There was a plan to compile a Sandra Feva/Richardson CD by those Grapevine boys, I know because I contributed quite a few tracks. Must have been shelved when it all became a bit fragmented.

Lee Williams & The Cymbals Lost Love
Completely, and absolutely agree....top of the Lee Williams & Cymbals pile for me too
-
Bobby Lee Watson - Valley Of Love
I'll be the first to confess that I don't know it - any chance you could post it. Pospsike lists it as having sold for $370 in 2004, and I've got a more recent sales list listing it at 100 of our English pounds.

House Music
That's the difference Mark - being able to sort the good from the bad in all genres, and in your game mate, the excellent from the average.
-
Love Committee - Tired Of Being Alone
Still sounds great to me Kev, I'll dig it out and post ut up tomorrow.

House Music
I've always considered you a totally switched on lady that appreciates good soul music, so not suprised at your shameful confession . I'll have a soulful house CD ready for you at Silk on 23rd. It'll be our secret

Try This 45 Out For Size
Hi Shute, Great tune, but I don't think it's ever had real exposure. We used to play it at Detroit Academicals nights back in tha day. T'other side is good too Cliff

The Music Box with Mark Randle on Starpoint Radio
Will be listening in - avidly. BTW ok for radio sets at pressthatin.

No, I see you point Pete. It wouldn't, if your idea of a healthy forum is to argue the toss on which flavours of soul music are worthy, and pitch inane comments against the styles you didn't like.

House Music
If only.....World peace would be more likely than a total appreciation of all styles of soul music. It's difficult enough to gain a rounded appreciation in a modern soul room when the range of styles spans near on 40 years with playlists moving between crossover and soulful house, and everything in between, and likewise mutterings and discontent echo around the northern rooms which typically play music from only half of this time span. You will never please everyone. In reality there's very few across the board soul fans, most specialise in one or two areas, and that's absolutely fine. I just wish they would keep their uninformed opinions of music styles, outside of their areas to themselves - this forum would be a far better place for it.

Absoluteley ! But aren't you glad Sam has stopped playing the appalling DJ Genesis

I would stop digging the hole if I were you, you've proved your credentials for being such a sage on the subject
