another real niggle,is when you,ve got your spot,nicely talced,and worn in just how you like it and you,ve been dancing on it all night,then some clown,when passing spills his or her beer,coke or whatever on it ,and its just a sticky mess,ruined..so you move somewhere else,and the sticky stuffs all under your shoes..must be one of the most frustrating things known to man wanting to dance but cant slide..

one thing that used to really p*ss me off,was with a full dance floor dj,s after the record finished start to give a sermon before playing the next sound whist dancers mop their brow,scratch their nose turn around,put hands on hips as though to say f**kin get on with it,and by the time they do,half of the dancers have left the floor,or the buzz as passed and the dj as missed the moment,some djs just dont get it,there more intrested in hearing their own voices..than reading the floor..not dissing all djs there are of course many exellent spinners.just a personal gripe.

like most people that went to the casino,back in the days,i attended many other venus.cleethorpes,wakefield unity hall,ritz etc..but theres only one place that still to this day that just talking about it excites me..just the mention of this iconic establishment, brings back heartfelt memories that i know can never be replicated..sure i,ve moved on and are by no means an oldies dynasaur...probably just because those nights/mornings were some if not thee..best times in my life,and just thinking of them , makes me feel alright,(wow turley richards).

moved house recently and just binned a talk of the grapevine album (demo)vg con, after spinning it for god knows how many years in the bedroom,with a few scrathes e.t.c with the floor work and the like...won it at a dance comp..in halifax back in the late 70s of searling....happy dazes...

anybody that buys records depending on what the price guides dictate want their heads examining ,

totally agree with picking the cheapies up,just look at the £10 records of not long ago...eg wade flemons...remember domar selling lonnie lester copies at £2 ea he had a box full and could,nt shift em

always hated modern....still do.theres loads of sixties stuff unknowns,semi knowns and even tunes that were played back in the day,that a lot of people have never heard today.How many brilliant sounds are they that only got limited airplay back then i.e a couple of weeks play never to be heard again or seen again..eg "too much,seb williams e.t.c...but each to their own suppose it would be boring if we all had the same taste .. and dont think the scene would ave sank without modern,in my experience more people leave the dance floor than join it when a modern tune comes on....over to you.

my first expeirience was pirate radio,the gear was set up in the attic of a huge house where it had been converted into bedsits,i,d been shown how to operate all the system the day before,so come saturday morning i arrived, got all set up,play box ready e.t.c.then 8.00am ..commenced my 2 hour spot,after 5mins with a record on the turntable i shot downstairs knocked on a door where i heard music coming from and asked the guy if he was listening to he pirate show,which he said he was .great ,i shoot back into the attic to continue 2 hour northern show..and at 10 finshed my spot..only to realise when the next d,j took over that i had,nt switched a particular switch over and my broadcast had,nt gone out live,but a prerecorded reggae show had been repeatedly playing....what a downer..but i did,nt let it deter me and have dj,d since on many occasion,albeit not recently

always liked this...never picked a copy up when they were around few years back,...have,nt seen one for a while,nice demo too.
