  1. Great call Dylan, have been shouting from the rooftops for years about this, sadly though, in this big ticket demandind "not rare enough" climate we live in it will remain like so many other ignored gems just a topic for debate on these threads. Kev
  2. That would probably have been The Mad Lads excellent take on Clydes "Did my baby call". Absolutely gutted at this news, the quantity, depth and quality of this guys contribution to Soul music should have brought him stardom and wealth, his legacy though is set in stone, most people I know have numerous recordings by him or by others that he has written. His music lives on. R.I.P. Steve Mancha Kev
  3. Two absolute crackers (no seasonal pun intended), have cherishes both of these from their initial inception, both are very hard to turn up now so this is a great opportunity. "I wanna be near you" has had me puzzled for years, this should have been a monster, intense, perfect tempo and Teds sublime soulful delivery, if you don,t have it, get it now. Kev

Hi Karen and Maria Can,t find Novembers playlist on Boomerang. Best Regards Kev
  7. Absolutely, just shows the buzz, at last that this gem is creating, still, check out one half of the two., Freddie Hughes version of this on his Wand set. Kev
  8. Hiya Swifty Not sure, but I would think at least £60, anyone else any Idea ? Kev
  9. Quality all the way my friend, E G Taylor hidden gem, everyone lists the inferior flip. Kev
  10. There are both dodgy black and white and orange and black Casanova Two. In the 70,s every soul pack had either one in, stand them next to the genuine Demo and issue and they stand out a mile, the typeset is aweful on them and they just look crap. But as I have stated earlier, one hell of a record which I think only now is getting its day in the sun. Kev
  11. Absolutely, BTW, last week reached a nrw high IMHO Best Kev
  12. Here, here, give that man a ceegar, this is actually an anthem at the more progressive doe,s in Aycliffe over the last 30 years or so, never really heard it any where else though Ian, likewise one of my favourite tunes ever. I am pretty sure one half of the two is Freddie Hughes, written by him and he also does a tremendous solo version on his Wand album. Kev
  13. Magnetics "Count The Days" on Sable same as Soulful Twins "Can,t Let You Go" also on Sable Kev
  14. Clyde Mcphatter-Crying won,t help you now, Manhattans-Follow your heart, Friday, Saturday Sunday-There must be something, vision and taste, great stuff Kev
  15. The heartfelt reactions on here in the response to this awful news say it all, We,ve seen a lot of great artists pass away in the last few years but this has absolutely, genuinely levelled me. Just listen to his voice on "Give me just a little more time", the intensity and honesty just blows you away, then listen to "Our Love will grow" and better still "You are my everything" The man means it big time and leaves you drained after. "Don,t Walk Away" is just unbelievable for me, everything about it is the reason I am hooked for life to this incredible music, but especially at this moment, I defy anybody to be able to keep it together while listening to "Patches" Norman "General" Johnson R.I.P. I bet messr,s Taylor, Hampsey, Briscoe and Bully have something in line foe November 13th, The General and his likes epitomise the place. Kev
  16. Second that Tony, Great vocals (as you would expect) and the production is as tight as you like on all of them, great stuff indeed Paul. Kev

He did the same thing with Cleveland Wilson (A.K.A O.C. Tolbert) "I,m Shooting High" Chalky at his Mansfield niter. On first hearing it I must admit I wouldn,t have minded iff he had played it 5 times. It had the effect on us lads from Aycliffe, by the 3rd time we were all up. Kev
  18. Alright Soul lovers All sent off today, hope you all enjoy, any type of feedback welcome lads Kev
  19. Can I get em from you Paul, direct, or are you distributing them to outlets, let me know purchasing details please, haven,t heard them yet but the buzz they are creating from the right people will do for me. Best Kev

  24. Way to go boys, count me in, must sat though, still playing through original batch, takes a long time to digest all of that great music properly, catching a few things second or third time around. Kev
