Have considered buying this original. Thought I'd get a few opinions on price. I've checked popsike (I know it's not the last word in prices!!) and sale figures over time have been between £200 and £449. I've seen it for sale on here a few times for much more. Any views? I think that one had a small bit of writing on the label - "MUFF" I think !!!!!!!! That's a hell of an expensive Muff if it cost the best part of £500.

There's also one on the JM auctions. That'll be interesting to see how it ends.

I'm sure my DEMO is vinyl - bought from Station Road in about 1978. I've only seen styrene ISSUES though.

That depends on if you are Buying or selling

Someone on Soul Source a few years back commented on a thread discussing venues that describe themselves as Original Vinyl Only - OVO. They put forward the idea that venues such as the one you attended should advertise as playing "Carvers, Reissues And Pressings". This could then be abbreviated to "CRAP" and they could advertise as such. You would then have CRAP DJ's and CRAP venues playing CRAP. No offence intended.

If it's just to play your records, I'd recommend a NAD 3020. I bought one new in about 1987 and still going strong !!! Very basic, no frills, good enough to make a right old racket in most homes. Simply plug your deck and speakers into the back and away you go. Can also plug in CD and Tuner (and tape deck!!) Plenty second hand on eBay - about £80

If you do need to complain, also refer to the 1 on popsike I mentioned in post no. 3

Not unless someone has put a scan/copy label on a Bootleg/reissue/carver. This could be sold by the person doing the copying or someone who has previously got hold of a copy. I'm sure you've seen the other thread on this subject. Cheers.

And after April 6th 2015, they will also be able to get their hands on the remaining 75% as a one-off or partial lump sum as well (subject to income tax and without having to retire!!). So, could 2015 see even HIGHER prices
