This "cover-up" has now found it's way onto the JM Auction. Not covered-up! Shirley Johnson - Too Big To Cry, as someone mentioned previously in the thread I think.

Cecil Washington - Live National Anthem
Just noticed this on Youtube. I liked it. It's Cecil Washington (in 2011) singing the USA National Anthem. A couple of things came to mind - How GOOD he is - Didn't know he had dealt with Throat Cancer. And this was AFTER he'd had Cancer. hope he's OK now. (apologies if previously posted) https://youtu.be/7JaP7Qq7VTY

Records That Will Always Remind You Of A Venue
Rufus Lumley - "Stronger Than Me" and Earth, Wind and Fire - "Got to get you into my life" both remind me of Yate. I only went about 5 or 6 times. Doris Troy - "I'll do anything" reminds me of Wigan. The first time I went was September Oldies night 1977. It was being re-released on Pye that week and they played it in the main room 7 times!!!!!

Ellusions - Price Please
Thanks for the reply's so far There are 7 on the Popsike like above in post #1. Not that many. With a few listed on here - not sure if any were the same copies circulating. Sometimes more expensive records are highly regarded but when it comes to selling they can stick for a while.

John Manship Auction Results 11-3-2015
After checking the sound clip of the JR & Soulettes, I was surprised that anybody bid at all!! Couldn't see any merit in it - £33 seems a bit steep to me Is this being played out by anyone (apologies to anyone who counts this as among their all time fav's )

Ellusions - Price Please
Have considered buying this original. Thought I'd get a few opinions on price. I've checked popsike (I know it's not the last word in prices!!) and sale figures over time have been between £200 and £449. I've seen it for sale on here a few times for much more. Any views? Thanks. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=ellusions&pagenum=1&incldescr=&sortord=dprice&thumbs=&currsel=3

Ray Pollard Demo
I think that one had a small bit of writing on the label - "MUFF" I think !!!!!!!! That's a hell of an expensive Muff if it cost the best part of £500.

Ray Pollard Demo
There's also one on the JM auctions. That'll be interesting to see how it ends.

Reissues With Exact Label Scans
Someone on Soul Source a few years back commented on a thread discussing venues that describe themselves as Original Vinyl Only - OVO. They put forward the idea that venues such as the one you attended should advertise as playing "Carvers, Reissues And Pressings". This could then be abbreviated to "CRAP" and they could advertise as such. You would then have CRAP DJ's and CRAP venues playing CRAP. No offence intended.

Amp/tuner Amp Info
If it's just to play your records, I'd recommend a NAD 3020. I bought one new in about 1987 and still going strong !!! Very basic, no frills, good enough to make a right old racket in most homes. Simply plug your deck and speakers into the back and away you go. Can also plug in CD and Tuner (and tape deck!!) Plenty second hand on eBay - about £80
