  1. Your either a mad dog or Englishman out in the midday sun!!
  2. Hi Pete, I have an original as per the JM description in his auction in September 2011 with the position of the FW stamp in relation to the 1168 number and the funny number "8". I also have the boot. However someone tried to make it look legit with the FW mark but it's in the wrong place relative to the 1168 and the "8" looks normal proportions. There is a VERY light line through the "e" in "Dame" on the original and a more obvious line through the "e" on the boot. The boot does have marks on the run-out groove but the original doesn't. Here's a scan of both, I think one of them you have is pukka. The boot is a darker yellow and is the one on the left Cheers Kev Bod
  3. I think TOJO was played at The Cats. Here's a picture of Max's copy I bought from him in about 1978. Cheers Kev Bod
  4. Finishes on SUNDAY 21st December. Just in time for Christmas!! I hope the highest bidder can collect as you wouldn't want to risk the Christmas post
  5. Excellent. Thanks for the reply. Please let us know about the future releases and tour dates.
  6. Hi Mark, I bought previous vinyl release by Xiantoni and was very pleased with the excellent product and service. Will there be a vinyl version of the EP for sale? Regards Kev Bod
  7. Also on Tim Brown auction. JM finishes on 22nd October and TB on 24th October.
  8. JOTIS Records was Otis Redding and Jim Stewart. Only 4 releases produced by them. None with Otis as the main artist.

  12. Thanks for putting this up Pete. This was the last but 1 night I went. I think the playlist gives a good sample of a typical "oldies" night at Wigan. Even someone who had only been into it for a week would have been familiar as some of the playlist featured in the pop charts. Usually, no room on the dance floor until late on. I always get a picture in my mind of an oldies night of Keith blasting his way through the crowd with his record box on his shoulder!! By the way Soulstu, I have many happy memories of the Feathers. Late 70's onwards it was run by my good mate's mom, Carol Ellitts. Paul (Beanhead) and I would on occasions be put in charge of "catering" on saturdays after an oldies night - good job health and safety hadn't been invented. Also, lot's of folks met up there 1 night before Wigan (I think) and P**l S*****n had "borrowed" a very large canister of Nitrous Oxide and attempts were made to release said gas in the Snug!! Cheers
  13. I Like buying records "I like it alot!!" https://youtu.be/28GLa9T2CtI Personally, I treat it as money "spent" rather than money I'll get back. Gone and never to be seen again. And only buy things I want to own for good.

  16. I think the Skull Snaps LP at number 33 on the list must be some sort of Highest Ever Paid at $515
  17. Seems OK now.
  18. They mention Darrell performing on the TV show American Bandstand. Is there any way to search their archive to perhaps get to see him performing? Would love to see that. Kev Bod
  19. Yes Pete, Thanks. (1 Mercury seemed to have sneaked in!!)
  20. Cheers Pete, I usually just look at the first page - recent additions. Can I filter it so there is just the stateside showing?
  21. Agreed!! Would it be worth a try for SS members to post scans of all the Northern/Soul Stateside demo's on this thread or a gallery type thread?
  22. Add: - Sonny Munro The Mob
  23. I really REALLY like all Darrell Banks stuff and found the story of his life, death and the grave stone so, so interesting. I have all his records, most in a couple of format's (Demo, Issue, UK, USA etc). I'd like to add a nice London Issue but the chances are, well, BLEAK! (I would pay a fair bit Nick if you're interested ) The backing track pop's up a few times on different songs and I'd love to know if this was the first and others were using the track of a successful record or if this was a copy. Anyway, the thing I always found interesting having read various accounts of "who wrote it" was that Darrell was NEVER credited with writing anything else either good bad or indifferent. I guess you could say it leads you to think it's therefore unlikely his one and only song writing attempt was such a fantastic tune OR he only had 1 song in him and it was a real CRACKER! Kev Bod
  24. Re Tan Geers on eBay - from memory, the seller was going for FULL VALUE customs dec which would add 20%.
  25. Here's a couple Dave, The issue label isn't quite as nice condition as the demo. Let me know if they are OK or if you want them e-mailing Regards Kev Bod
