  1. Agreed, also "Construction" seemed to really suit being played at Station Road. (p.s. I have both "10 miles high" and "Hey little way out girl". They don't come close to being the most guilty of "guilty pleasures" in my record collection!!! I feel much better now I've said that)
  2. Glad you found it. I didn't realise that was a thing - humming into Google!!!
  3. Is it possibly this one? (not eighties but sort of fits the description!)
  4. I think it's a difficult one to fix a price. There are a fair few about BUT, very often, they are "tatty/well used/kicked around a warehouse floor" type things - also know as "OK for DJing with! I've seen plenty of lower grade one's go for £500 to £1,000. I'm sure that a nice copy such as yours would coax out a MUCH better price. So, an auction would be the most likely best option. Lot's of people are happy to pay a high premium for a top copy. With regard to John Bowie, I remember in the late 1970's when someone on a trip to USA came back with LOADS - just like Frank Beverly on Sassy. Pep was selling them at something like £4. So, to see these at current values is incredible
  5. Stoned Love is one of my favorites! I've never seen a black vinyl one. Not sure why, but the LONG version has 1969 on the label and the other side (SHORT version) has 1970.
  6. Hi, I'm still looking for: - Major Lance - Monkey Time - Columbia DEMO. I have posted this previously but thought a new thread may get more attention than another post in an old thread. Please get in touch if you have one for sale. Thanks
  7. We seem to doing OK. There are dozens of Sparrows and Dunnocks. I made a few more nest boxes for the Blue Tits early this year and 2 of them had residents! So there are also lots of both Blue and Great Tits. Sadly, a Sparrow Hawk has also worked this out! There was a Green Woodpecker who bought the new addition to the family. This was a month or so ago. The Hedgehogs seem to have moved on. I think they got the hump when we stopped putting Dried Mealworms out. I think we do OK with the wildlife as we put lots of food out. I was thinking about doing a pond but couldn't decide. Wildlife Pond people (Joel Ashton does lots on youtube) seem to want to avoid having pumps. But, I'm not so keen on having a swamp at the end of the garden. ANY ADVICE?
  8. Just another quick "bump" to remind folks the event is CANCELLED! Apparently, the roof problems were caused by the Lead being pinched!
  9. Hi All, We have just been contacted by the venue. Apparently, part of the roof has given way/collapsed and rain has been coming in. Therefore, they have cancelled the event as repairs cannot be guaranteed to be completed prior to the 20th. Please accept our apologies. We were all looking forward to another night at the Town Hall. We are looking at an alternative date to fit in prior to the October event already in the diary and on the Soul Source event calendar. Thanks for your understanding.
  10. I'd forgotten about this. Genuinely great set of songs and videos. Really enjoyable. Thanks @Mike
  11. Thanks to everyone who attended. Hope you enjoyed the music and this wonderful venue. See you in July for the next instalment.

  14. If you're planning out your Bank Holiday adventures, have a think about including us!! Playing your past, present and future favorites. As I had COVID for most of February, I've had plenty of time to sort through the record boxes and come up with a few unexpected gems. It'll be chance to have a play about before the adults start! See you there.
  15. Just a reminder, you can message me to purchase tickets. They can either be posted out or reserved on the door. Please don't forget to include your address in the message if you want them posted. Cheers, KB
  16. For those of you who attended our first event at Bilston, here we go for Round 2. If you’re planning your nights out in March, give this a try. It will certainly freshen up your diary as a break from the usual treadmill of events. As they say “if you always do what you’ve done, you’ll always get what you’ve got”. In some cases that can be good but sometimes, just sometimes, it can feel like “Groundhog Day”!! This is a TOP QUALITY venue, genuinely outstanding. It’s clean and friendly with a cracking Built-In sound system. There’s loads of convenient parking in and around the venue. As you approach, you get that tingle as the muffled sounds start to come into focus. Through the doors, up the stairs and the night starts. The sounds you’ll hear will cover a wide range of styles and era’s. You will be certain to hear some much loved favorites, you'll be reminded of forgotten gems and no doubt add to that list as the DJ’s selected produce a little bit of MAGIC! Hope to see you there.
  17. Tickets now available. Please PM with your address and to request payment details. You can either have the tickets posted out or reserved on the door. Your choice. Hope you can pop over to see us!!
  18. Flyer for July event. Hope to see you there.
  19. Here's the flyer for the March event. Hope to see some of you there!
  20. In fairness, the guy can sing - it's just that he's more Pat Boone than Ray Pollard. So that's not good! The lyrics are a collection of generic cliché's that have been cobbled together. So, that's not good either!! I did wonder if an instrumental would be any better. However, no, it wouldn't!!! From an environmental point of view, I agree with Mr. Woodbutcher hoping that not too much plastic has been wasted used. On the plus side, they have generated some attention for the product (is all publicity good publicity?). Next move, perhaps get some World Championship standard Northern Soul dancers to feature in a video.
