Betty Renne - Betty James - Same?
According to Dave Moore's book "The Philly Sound", Bette Renne is Betty Renee Garvin. She was an early member of the Bluebelles but, left the group before they started recording. Two members of the Thrillettes were Sally and Vivian Hicks who were former members of the Femm-eles who recorded for the Kay and Bo-Kay-Lo labels

I can answer some of your original questions. These songs were unreleased during the Cavaliers time at RCA - 1) "It's Guaranteed" - recorded Feb. 23, 1967 2) "Ooh, It Hurts Me" - also recorded Feb. 23, 1967 3) "Without Someone To Tell Me" recorded - July 18, 1966 4) "We Go Together" ( A remake of the Moonglows song) recorded with and without a rap intro All info is from these Kent CDs- "Rare, Collectable and Soulful Vol. 1 and 2 and the 3 Pied Piper CD's- "A New Concept in Detroit Soul", "Follow Your Soul" and "Finale" .

Tomangoes and Precisions acetates on eBay - legit?

Sparkels-Try Love
I believe it was a typo. The Don't Forget The Motor City website has the credits as Barnes and Kerr. There is an unreleased acetate of a Norma Jenkins version of the song.

Jean Battle; Mojo 45 Blues & Soul
I found this in Record World- the article is more about Showtime Productions but does mention Jean's single on Red Lite-

The other big tip off is the acetate itself- look how far the grooves are spread out. I don't have one 60's or 70's (pre -Disco) acetate that has the grooves spread out so far- they are usually the same size as they would be on the 45.
