The Manchester Soul Festival 2016 @ The Printworks on
This event is now over
Ok here we go again with the second Manchester Soul Festival, last year was the first and was the idea of a dear friend of mine and Manchester DJ legend Frank Byrne. Frank was being treated for cancer and wanted to do something for all the kids being treated in The Christe. I helped Frank as the idea grew from a small venue then grew bigger and bigger and eventually we ended up in The Printworks with a bit help from Fred Booth a true blue who runs the place. Over 40,000 walked through the place last year listening to Soul bands, Soul Artist and over 20 soul DJ's from all over the North West and further. Everyone worked for nothing and over £22,500 was raised in donations on the day.We are back again on Sunday the 28th of August from midday till late with over 16 Soul Bands and Artists, and over 35 Northern and Soul DJs. Including 4 Northern Rooms including The Twisted Wheel Org, Working all the Venues inc HardRock, BierKeller, Walkabout, Yates,L. The Harvester, Lloyds, Tiger Tiger and The Bird Cadge. Not forgetting The Frank Byrne Stage in The Pump Yard It's going to be massive. So if you. Love your soul you can't miss this event and everything goes to the Christe. Wrist bands can be bought on the just giving page on the Printworks web page, or bought on the day or just put The Manchester Soul Festival in the search area on FB. On a very sad note Frank passed away a month back but his idea and name will live on each year. Thank You Paul Kidd see you there if you care.Note: this is now a stripped down post-event display
