Just when it looked as though we'd fallen into the same old rare / expensive records schtick that bores the sh*t out of everyone ...

Perfect example of a great record that could and should be played alongside any recognised 'oldie' or rarity...and what makes it better is it can still be picked up for less than the price of a few pints...a GRUMPY staple 👍👏

Perhaps we have a concensus of opinion now that this weekend's event is going to be not just a cracker, but a packer!, and the weather is looking pretty good too. Certainly hoping that those intent on travelling are taking up the option of a stopover as there are more than adequate facilities within 10 mins of the venue.

All in all, it more than promises to be a special occasion, and looking forward to it immensely!😉👍

Expect unissued tackle, quality 'cheapies', rarities, thinking people's oldies, a smattering of high class crossover and, it should really go without saying, homage to beautiful, wonderful, extraordinary, unsurpassable Motown

Traditional GS ender, doesn't come much better that's for sure. Very much in the same vein as Ask The Lonely, more Detroit perfection that could very well get an airing x

Baz, I'm not sure what the weather forecast is but if it gets too hot, then take Martha Redbone with you for the modern room, a former Baz M Prestwich, modern soul midtempo two step anthem. I remember when you first played it, including the 1 minute chant intro, I'm sure it started raining outside.🤔😄😓

Great shout Bob and great memories of that night! The Modern Room at Prestwich was incredible due to records like this finding a packed home every month... definitely in the box for Saturday 👍

As the Bank Holiday weekend approaches, things are lining up nicely for a night of rare soul excellence! The GRUMPY SOUL event on Soul Source has had over 4000 genuine views with folks taking a look at the information there and listening to some of the sounds listed to be featured on the night… Facebook has done its bit as well, allowing us to spread the GRUMPY word to groups of RARE SOUL and MODERN SOUL aficionados alike, all with the aim of bringing together like-minded soulies, looking to come together for a great, soul night out!

So, it’s looking like all roads lead to CULCHETH VILLAGE CLUB THIS SATURDAY!

Weatherwise I don't think you'll need it mate. I'll bet Rob H was looking forward to doing his rain dance. 😜

Got to say what a night 🌙. Hats of to Barry, Phil and Joan and all the djs in both rooms. Can honestly say best night of the year so far in my honest opinion. The music was sublime and atmosphere was electric. Lots of people ive not seen in ages that made the EFFORT to travel from far and wide. Cant wait for the next grumpy installment definitely one not to be missed. If you did miss last night you missed one hell of a night. Always a good night a culcheth but last night for me was special a room packed full of like minded people having it like it should be. Hats of to Baz and all the djs and the grumpy dancing cat . 10 out of 10 , 5 star 🌟 night from me .

Spot on what you say!, was totally shattered after last night, hadn't danced so much for ages, in between trying to take some pics that summed it up.

Evenso, and with it being a packer, still quite a good few familiar faces missing for whatever reason?, deffo concur it was a night not to be missed and the November date should be another special one!😉👍
