A question on the message board for Mary Fox's show asks what is the 2nd rarest northern 45, and also what's the 2nd rarest "popular" northern? I'm sure they have Frank Wilson as the number one, given all its recent high profile. Any thoughts as to what might be 2nd?

I think there are 3/4 knocking around my old one went to Tim Brown who passed it on to Ginger. Mick Smith has one that was Searlings at one time, am i right in thinking good old Ted Massey also owns a copy. regards Gilly and Nicola,

Yes Ted Massey has my old copy, which was the 1st one Neil Ruston got from Disco Bob.

Richard Searling's copy was the 2nd, Barry Waddington got that one into the UK.

Sold mine to Gilly in 82 for £85 ( $1 find in st louis ) so is that with Ginger now?, i'm a little confused , nice record tho!

It's a testpress and not acetate. Rob or Chris Marriott owned it at one time.

Benji, there`s (also?) an acetate of this. Wether that is the one that Rob or Chris owned I don`t know. But please verify your statement that there is a test press around because if it is and you have not mixed up acetate with test press that would make it now 4 copies plus one acetate.

The one that one of the Marriotts owned was definitely a King test press. I thought you were referring to that one. If there's also an acetate, so be it.

What about the two on Dore, The Swans Nitty Gritty City and Little Johnny Hamilton - Keep On Movin'. Not just the rarest on the label but two of the rarest 45's.

most popular rarest tune has got to be Eddie Parker "I'm Gone" followed very close with Ray Agee " Losin" And how about this one that nobody i think has mentioned Jimmy Burns " I Really Love You"

The only one I have seen was R. Thomas old copy when he sold it to P. Mason (Rawenstall lad not the Preston lad) about 8/9 years ago.
