Just wondered what you guys thought of 'The four vandals' stuff. I know the the guy that sings (Steve Burnstein)? was a winner of the 'X factor'? thingy, or was it 'Britain's got talent?, can't remember. But I do like his voice.

I just bought the 'A picture's worth a thousand words' single and it's really nice.

I should imagine that there will be a bit of a stigma attached with him winning what he did, especially with the purists, but just thought I'd ask what you thought?

My first thought is that it's absolute shit, my second thought is that my first thought wasn't actually thought out.......

The 2 4 vandals singles are harmless enough (leaving aside the politics, rip offs & headbutts) they just have no place on the soul scene IMO. I would put them in a similar vein to Rick Astely to be honest

A reasonable effort I'd say but not my cup of tea. The WSOT is notorious for all the wrong reasons. I for one couldn't really tell it was a new production when it surfaced and I believe most others couldn't either (though hindsight is a wonderful thing )

No issues with him winning the reality show or the infamy that came from the four vandals association but to me it was just a reasonable record no more no less.

as we are all aware, that probably what? 10% of Northern tunes are made and sang by white folk.

I apologise if i did get the wrong end of the stick there, 'stevejohnson' but it is easy to translate those words into that meaning. But if that is not the meaning, if someone makes a record that, in my opinion is VERY soulful and according to above comments, fooled a few folks when it came out, why shouldn't they have a place on the soul scene?
